‘By lunchtime, I’m starving’

Jennifer does not just devote herself to the gym, but also sticks by the adage that ‘abs are made in the kitchen’.

A number of insights into her diet have shown just how hard she works and Jennifer even admitted she is ‘left starving’ by lunchtime.

Trainer to the stars Tracy Anderson gave details on her diet on her website in 2018: ‘I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing…

‘It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high-quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food… everything is fresh.’

So what does J.Lo eat in a day?

Breakfast

Speaking to US Weekly in 2016, she revealed her breakfast comprises a 90-calorie chocolate Body Lab Shake, revealing: ‘I do it with quinoa milk or water’, and admitted caffeine is a strict no go: ‘I haven’t had caffeine in years.’

Lunch

She admitted that due to a small breakfast, she is left hungry later in the day, saying: ‘By lunchtime, I’m starving’.

In January 2019, Jennifer and Alex undertook a ten-day detox diet. They cut sugar and carbohydrates out of their diet…

He revealed they ate healthy salads during the detox, while continuing to enjoy the meals in their usual diets.

Jennifer also shared one of her favourite salad recipes with People Magazine. The meal included kale, toasted pumpkin seeds, crumbled queso, shallots, and a drizzle of olive oil.

Veganism helped Jennifer lose her baby weight, as she told Extra in 2014: ‘I’ll be honest with you guys, since I had the babies about six years ago, I had that really stubborn eight to ten pounds on me.’

Dinner

In a food diary recorded for People, Jennifer revealed her dinner will consist of: ‘1 boneless, skinless grilled chicken breast with: 1/2 cup sautéed brussels sprouts, 1/2 cup baked yams with sea salt’.

Dietitian Keri Glassman spoke to the publication about her food, saying: ‘Her chicken dinner is an excellent whole food meal…

‘But she could use a little more fat—a little grass-fed butter on the yams would taste great. A cookie as an indulgence is definitely okay for a hot mama like J.Lo!’

Veganism

Her trainer Dodd Romero revealed that since then, she has since added chicken breast, grass-fed beef, salmon and sea bass to add to her protein intake and keep her fuller for longer.

All together : Speaking about her kids’ diet in Harper’s BAZAAR, she said: ‘We eat a lot of green vegetables, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, broccoli and kale’

‘I love to cook a lot of stuff, I love cooking Puerto Rican food because that’s what I grew up on…

‘When I first moved to L.A., I called home and I was like, ‘Mommy, I miss your cooking,'””I asked her to show me how to make the recipes, so she taught me over the phone.”

Snacks

Jennifer revealed she ensures she never goes hungry on the run, she revealed to Hello! Magazine: ‘I always carry fruit and veggies with me to give me something to snack on between meals’.

On her guilty pleasures and allowing herself cheat days, she went on: ‘We’re all human..

‘I don’t think you should beat yourself up if you make a mistake or if you have a potato chip…

‘Everyone wants a cookie or a piece of cake or fried chicken every once in while’.

Water

Hydration is also key, as she stated: ‘Drinking plenty of water, especially before a workout, can help you push harder and get more out of your exercise routine… I make sure I drink plenty of water…’

SLEEP

‘Without eight hours sleep, I feel crazy’

Jennifer previously described sleep as her ‘weapon’ in her fight against ageing.

Speaking about how sleep keeps her young, she said: ‘I love a good nine or 10 hours, but I can never get that. So seven or eight is mandatory. [If I don’t get it] I just don’t feel right. I start feeling crazy, I get emotional and I feel tired all the time.’

As well as the amount of sleep, Jennifer also boldly stated that it is a must to remove make-up before bed.

She said: ‘I never go to bed without taking my makeup off, [and I use] night creams to keep my skin hydrated,’

Radiant: On her post-workout skicare regime, she said: ‘I always, always wash my face after a workout. That helps keep my pores clean and my skin feeling healthy. SKINCARE

‘Drinking, smoking and caffeine wreck your skin’

Jennifer frequently goes make-up free on social media and shows off her amazingly youthful skin.

She has previously detailed how she avoids ‘wrecking her skin’ and pays special attention to her routine to keep herself looking as young and fresh as possible.

On her post-workout skicare regime, she said: ‘I always, always wash my face after a workout. That helps keep my pores clean and my skin feeling healthy. Then I’ll usually put on moisturiser and sunscreen, with maybe a little make-up if I’m going out or moisturiser and eye cream if it’s the evening.’

On her skincare and the sunshine, she went on: ‘I’m rarely in the sun, but if I am, I wear a lot of sunscreen. I’ve never been one to take a lot of sun, which is why my skin has maintained itself. And I don’t drink or smoke or have caffeine. That really wrecks your skin as you get older.’

‘Some people say I look better now than I did in 2000’

One of the most career – and body – defining moments in the star’s life in the spotlight was when she attended the 2000 Grammy Awards on the arm of then-boyfriend P Diddy while sporting a plunging Versace gown, which became so widely Googled that it sparked the birth of Google Images.

Showing how she is stopping time, she recreated one of her most famous red carpet looks at the Versace Spring/Summer 2020 presentation during Milan Fashion Week in September 2019.

Months after wowing on the Fashion Week runway in the iconic green Versace gown, Jennifer made headlines once again when she stripped down to the dress on Saturday Night Live.

Standing tall, proud and as toned as ever, she voiced what everyone was thinking when she quipped on stage: ‘Some people say I look better now than I did then [in 2000]. And I’m not bragging, that’s just, you know, gossip.’
