I’m A Celeb 2021: ‘Such a disappointment!’ Hapless Richard Madeley earns a paltry FOUR stars for castle camp after being covered in revolting fish guts during latest trial

Yuck! Richard Madeley only managed to score four out of ten stars for camp after battling critters, rotten fruit, fish guts and offal in the gruesome Castle Kitchen Nightmares trial on I’m A Celebrity on Wednesday night

Ahead of the trial, Richard told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, he would ‘do my best’ after the pair revealed he would have to unearth the stars that had been hidden down walls, pots and a rubbish shoot.

Ant said: ‘This is castle kitchen nightmares, you have 10 minutes to find 10 stars hidden within the trial. Each star you find is a meal for the camp tonight. They could be hidden anywhere.

‘When you find a star, pop it in your star bag. Only stars that are in the bag at the end of the trial will count.

Dec added: ‘Now as this is a trial it will be full of castle critters throughout. If you want to stop the trial, shout “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” and we’ll get you out.’

As the klaxon sounded, Richard went head first into a chute, landed in revolting sewer area and struggled to find the stars amongst the rotten fruit and vegetables.

He then said: ‘There’s about seven tonnes of fruit, I’ll never find the star in here!’

‘Such a disappointment,’ Richard said: ‘We’ll have something to eat tonight. I was really hoping to do better than that.’

The merging of the two camps went well and the tension between the two camps was quickly diffused, with Frankie Bridge even crying tears of happiness.

In the Telegraph, Richard said: ‘I thought there might be a bit of friction at the outset because we’ve been down there all the time and they’ve been up here at our expense. And the Emmerdale actor’s countryside knowledge proved to be slightly lacking as he left I’m A Celeb viewers baffled when he didn’t know what a coop was.

The 30-year-old actor’s confusion began when he arrived at a farm outside the Welsh castle’s grounds to take part in the show’s latest chaotic Castle Coin challenge alongside Louise questioned: ‘What’s a coop?’

Danny was baffled by the concept of a coop until his BBC Breakfast presenter accomplice Louise explained the chicken pen to him by pointing out a nearby run and saying: ‘That’s a coop’.
