I’m A Celebrity suffers awkward on-air camera blunder as producer accidentally appears on screen seconds after Nigel Farage is eliminated

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! suffered an awkward camera blunder during Sunday night’s final.

Seconds after Nigel Farage was eliminated, one of the show’s producers accidentally appeared on the screen as she offered him some instructions.

The ex UKIP leader came in third place before Sam Thompson was crowned King Of The Jungle and boxing legend Tony Bellew secured second.

However, as he moved to exit the jungle, one of the show’s producers began to speak to him, armed with a notepad.

Usually the show aims to show the celebrities unaccompanied in the remote jungle – so viewers were very surprised to see a member of the crew appear on screen.

The camera quickly panned away from Nigel and gave a wide-shot of a hammock as bosses scrambled to cover up the mistake.

The screen then cut to hosts Ant and Dec who gave a summary of Nigel’s departure before the programme went to an ad break.

Fans were left shocked at the rare mishap and took to Twitter to express their surprise.

One said: ‘What just happened on I’m a celeb?? Why did we just see a producer come into camp?’

Another said: ‘Did anyone else see the producer run in to stop Nigel leaving then? ruins the illusion.’

A third complained: ‘The editing tonight has been all over the place,’ but a fourth found it exciting: ‘Why is it so exciting to see a producer out in the wild.’

After managing 23 days in camp, Nigel spoke to Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly about his jungle journey.

Speaking about his time on the show, Nigel said: ‘Because I had time to do it, 60 next birthday and I’m going to reach an age where I won’t be able to do it [the show]. Very pleased I did it, I did my best to show no fear at all, I gave you nothing.

‘I’m not surprised. I’m absolutely thrilled. Not everyone likes the stuff I campaigned for but no matter what people think I mucked in, threw myself into camp. But if you asked me would I do it again, I think I probably would!

‘Obviously there were people there with different views but I did think I managed to persuade them that we can respect the right to have different views. We had proper debates, no screaming, no big fall outs and I hope they understand.

‘The different backgrounds, different ages was a delight. I learnt that I can control fear in a way that I didn’t even know that I could.’

Nigel made his first public appearance with his girlfriend Lauren Ferrari as she greeted him on the bridge as he exited the jungle.

Sam Thompson then went on to win the show and was crowned King Of The Jungle for the 2023 series.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, has been the bookies favourite to win for the past couple of weeks after proving popular with ITV viewers.

Sam jumped into the arms of runner-up Tony when hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced the results, before admitting he was ‘overwhelmed’.

He said: ‘I’m really overwhelmed, I didn’t think I’d even be invited on the show. I don’t know what to say.’

Asked what he had to say to those who had voted for him, he tearfully said: ‘I’m so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamed of doing this show for years and years and you’ve made a boy’s dream come true.’
