Jacqueline Jossa is said to be set for a return to EastEnders after reportedly approaching bosses about a comeback following her feature at Dot Cotton’s funeral.

Her seven years in Walford could be extended, sources claim, after reportedly having a conversation with executive producer Chris Clenshaw.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider revealed: ‘Jacqueline hugely enjoyed reprising her role as Lauren for Dot’s funeral. EastEnders was a huge part of her life and she absolutely loves her character.

‘She had a conversation with EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw when she was back filming and made it clear she would be up for Lauren returning to Walford.’

They went on to explain that the job would now need to fit around her family life, which involves her taking care of her children.

MailOnline has contacted EastEnders and Jacqueline Jossa for comment.

It comes after Jacqueline herself hinted that she may return to EastEnders in the future, telling fans she ‘loved’ being back on the set.

The actress, 30, who left her role as Lauren Branning in 2018, was asked about her part during a Q&A with her followers, and said that ‘one day’ she might make a full time return.

During the Q&A, Jacqueline said she was flooded with messages of support from her followers praising her brief return to the soap.

A fan asked her: ‘Will you will ever go back to EastEnders full time?’

Posting a snap of herself back on the set while filming Dot’s funeral, Jacqueline replied: ‘I loved being back, and was so happy with you in my DMs, maybe one day.’

Earlier this month, Jacqueline reprised her role as Lauren as she returned to Walford to pay her respects at Dot’s funeral, after she was written out of the show in the wake of June Brown’s death earlier this year.

The actress previously admitted that she was ‘terrified’ to return to the soap, telling The Sun: ‘I was quite scared and it had only been four and a half years.

‘But it felt like 33 years. I thought, I can’t remember how to act and then you walk in and see people like Natalie and Scott Maslen and you’re like, ”Oh there’s Uncle Jack!”

‘I felt like I was home.’

Amid her return to the Elstree Studios set, Jacqueline took a trip down memory lane by snapping photos in her former room, captioning the images: ‘Flying visit to Albert square. RIP DOT.’
