JLS star Oritsé Williams has made a loss of £2.5 million after selling his Croydon mansion for just £500,000.

The singer purchased the mansion, once owned by Ronnie Corbett, for £3 milllion in 2013 and three years ago a devastating fire destroyed the property in a suspected arson attack.

The singer, 35, who recently got married, had been trying to sell the five-bedroom house when the blaze broke out.

It sat derelict for years but Land Registry records show new buyers paid £1.25 million less than Oritse had been  asking for the six-bedroom property.

Sold: JLS star Oritsé Williams has made a £2.5 million LOSS as he finally sold his Croydon mansion once owned by Ronnie Corbett for just £500k – three years after fire destroyed £3M property in suspected arson attack

The singer had been in the process of trying to sell his home when the suspicious fire happened in 2019  – just one week after he was cleared of rape.

Aerial photographs taken the following year showed the decrepit mansion with a collapsed roof, blown out windows and gutted interior.

The second floor was 80 percent damaged by the inferno, London Fire Brigade reported. Meanwhile the garden was seen overgrown with the swimming pool a murky shade of green.

The property was a former shell of the once family home which Ronnie once lived with his wife Anne and their two daughters.

Derelict: Pictures in 2020 showed little progress had been made on the six-bedroom property, 13 months after the blaze ripped through the home causing extraordinary structural damage

Ferocious: Around 70 firefighters were called to tackle the huge blaze, but they could do nothing to prevent the three-storey property’s roof being destroyed

Around 70 firefighters were called to tackle the huge blaze in June 2019, but they could do nothing to prevent the three-storey property’s roof being destroyed. No one was injured in the inferno.

Police launched an investigation into the cause, after revealing they were treating the fire as suspicious.

Oritse bought the six-bedroom home for £3 million with his then-girlfriend AJ Azari in 2013.

Five years later he put it on the market at a knock-down price of £1.75million after he was charged with rape, but was yet to sell the property.

The once lavish home, in Croydon, south London fell into a state of disrepair after it was sold to Oritse.

It featured a hot tub in the bedroom, outdoor swimming pool and a ping pong table.

Pictures taken shortly after the blaze show the burnt-out hollow of the property, the windows and doors have been blown out and the roof collapsed.

Earlier photos from the rundown property showed a slimy green swimming pool, along with a fence in disrepair surrounding the property, and an overgrown garden with some discarded furniture.

Awful: Part of the first and second floor of a detached three-storey building were badly damaged by the fire

Disrepair: Photos taken in 2018 at the rundown property showed a slimy green swimming pool, along with a fence in disrepair surrounding the property

Unloved: The property was formerly owned by the late comedian Ronnie Corbett but pictures taken late last year show how badly the property has been looked after in the years after

Meanwhile, pictures taken in 2018 at Oritse’s home appear to show a smashed window, a broken fence and an overgrown garden with discarded furniture.

A week prior to the devastating fire, the singer was found not guilty of rape.

He had been accused of launching a sex attack on a tattoo artist fan at a hotel room, after allegedly plying her and two friends with alcohol on December 2, 2016.

Friend and tour manager Jamien Nagadhana was also charged with sexual touching and assault by penetration of the same woman at the pair’s room in Wolverhampton’s Ramada Hotel.

Before the blaze: But it appears the property was not sold, despite it boasting several lavish details such as a bedroom hot tub, indoor balconies and marble detailing throughout

Beautiful: The kitchen has a theatrical theme with an archway and Georgian-style pillars surrounding a state-of-the-art double oven

Spacious: The bedroom follows the luxurious style with sparkly crown tiles, a huge whirlpool bathtub, a mirrored wardrobe and a terrace balcony

A jury of eight women and four men took two hours and 17 minutes to find Oritse and Jamien not guilty of all charges following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Following the fire, Ronnie Corbett’s widow said she has been left devastated.

Anne Hart, 87, said she had been thinking about buying back the mansion she shared with the comedian for 33 years, before it was destroyed in the blaze.

Reacting to the fire at her old home, Anne told The Sun: ‘I’m heartbroken and Ronnie would be too.’

The sale of the property comes after Oritsé and his fiancée Kazz Kumar married in a romantic ceremony in Jamaica earlier this week.

He described the couple’s big day as ‘out of this world’, with the pair deciding on the Caribbean island for their nuptials as it has a ‘special place’ in their hearts.

Oritse told Hello! magazine: ‘It was like a fairytale. I was looking around trying to take in all of the moments and savour them. Jamaica has a very special place in my heart.

‘My mother’s family is from Jamaica. It is an emotional, spiritual, sentimental location for me and for us both.’

Former X Factor contestant Oritsé asked singer Kazz, 37, to marry him while he was on the road with his band JLS during their Beat Again comeback tour last year.

The smitten pair went official with their relationship in July 2020 after meeting via social media.

Oritsé welcomed son Omré in 2014 with his ex Aimee Jade Azari, known as AJ, who he split from in 2016.
