EXCLUSIVE ‘I didn’t do anything wrong!’ Jo Wood reveals the secret to her close relationship with ex-husband Ronnie and his Rolling Stone bandmates

Jo Wood has revealed the secret to her close relationship with her ex-husband Ronnie, whom she has remained on good terms with since their 2009 divorce.

The model, 67, who married the Rolling Stones rocker, 75, in 1985, walked out after he cheated with 20-year-old Ukrainian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

Speaking exclusively with MailOnline after walking in the VIN + OMI ‘Spaced’ fashion show on Wednesday, she discussed her friendship with her former partner and his bandmates.

She said: ‘I know that I can pick up the phone and ring him if there’s anything, like, trouble or anything like that.

‘But I could do that with Keith [Richards] as well. I saw Keith recently, with Patti [Hansen, his wife]. I’m fine with them all. I didn’t do anything wrong!

‘When you have children and grandchildren, I think it’s important… I like to know that I can say, “The kids have been, you know, even though they’re grown up. Have a word with them!”‘

The pair share artist daughter Leah, 44, and gallery owner son Tyrone, 39, while she had CBD-guru Jamie at the age of 18 while in a previous relationship.

During her marriage, the grandmother-to-10 also became stepmum to musician Jesse, 46, whose biological mother is the late Krissy Findlay.

Last year, Jo suffered a broken ankle after falling down a staircase at Ronnie’s home in Ireland.

She eloped to Las Vegas in 1973 with her first husband, clothing entrepreneur Peter Greene. Their eldest son Jamie was born a year later but the marriage ended in 1976. A year later she met Ronnie.

‘For our first date he took me to a nice pub on Chelsea Embankment and we had tequila sunrises,’ she said.

Much of their relationship was spent on the road with the Stones.

He went on to marry theatre producer Sally Humphreys, 45, with whom he has six-year-old twin daughters.

On Wednesday, Jo looked nothing short of sensational as she hit the catwalk ahead of London Fashion Week, having walked for VIN + OMI countless times previously.

Sporting a gothic chic look for the runway, her quirky black dress was embellished with an alien print and two wasps on her chest.

Cut-out on one shoulder, the asymmetrical number hung over her arm and featured a small slit at the bottom of her legs.

The sustainable designers consider themselves eco-innovators and have also worked with the likes of Blondie’s Debbie Harry, 77.

With a strong focus on garments made from UK waste plant sources, the pair are famed for their textiles made from King Charles’ waste nettles at Highgrove.

Speaking about her love of the brand, Jo said: ‘We need to change the way we live and what we wear and they prove anything could be taken and made into clothes and it’s beautiful and it fits tight.

‘We don’t need to be making more and more stuff. We’ve got so much stuff on this planet, we need to rein it in now. Now’s the time to start taking care of this planet.

‘I don’t understand, if we can make recyclable plastic, why isn’t everything recyclable now? So why isn’t all the plastic biodegradable like they use.

‘The necklace I wore tonight was made by Charles’ plastic pots. He should come along, I dare him to! He’d love the outrageous outfits.’
