She welcomed her first child with her footballer husband Rio four months ago.

And Kate Ferdinand, 29, took to Instagram on Monday to show the occasionally smelly realities of motherhood. 

She posted a series of snaps of herself changing her son Cree’s nappy, with the baby appearing to suffer a poo explosion.

Captioning the images, the new mum joked: ‘It’s not always picture perfect guys, you win some & you definitely get covered in poo for some.’

Kate revealed she actually enjoys changing nappies because Cree seems to ‘laugh the whole time.’  

She captioned the hilarious snaps: ‘I never thought I’d actually say I really enjoy changing Crees nappy.’

‘He is so happy when we do, it’s just so funny, he giggles and laughs the whole time!!’

The star went on to talk about the realities of parenthood and how it is not always ‘picture perfect.’

Posting a mirror selfie in matching black underwear, the new mum revealed that some days she only manages to ‘shower’ and ‘snuggle’ her baby but ‘that’s okay’.

She wrote: ‘Some days I make it to the gym and feel ready to take on the world…

‘And other days we shower, get back in bed, snuggle and that’s ok! Being a mum is such a journey,

‘Since talking to you all and other mums… I’ve really felt like I can relate to you all so much and have stopped beating myself up if every day doesn’t go to plan.’  

And Kate revealed last week that she felt motivated to workout ahead of treating herself to chocolate eggs for Easter.

‘More room for Easter eggs later,’ wrote the new mum alongside a video of her lifting weights in the gym.

Earlier this month Kate revealed she doesn’t love her postpartum body.

She said: ‘Let’s talk post pregnancy body. I’ve really held off on uploading any pictures with my body in because last time I did, for some reason, I felt all types of nerves and ended up deleting it … hormones, or the pressure of Instagram to look a certain way? Who knows, but either way, I’ve finally plucked up the courage. Here I am.

‘I’m finally starting to slowly feel more like “me” again, but it hasn’t been plain sailing. I was seeing lots of ladies, and I salute you, saying they love and embrace their post pregnancy body; I wish I felt like that but in all honesty …

‘I love that my body produced our baby BUT quite frankly, I don’t love my post baby body. I miss feeling fit & strong!’

Rio and Kate are also father and stepmother to children Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine, from his marriage to his late wife Rebecca Ellison.
