Happy 15th Birthday Suri! Katie Holmes, 42, shares never-seen-before images of the daughter she had with ex-husband Tom Cruise, 58

Katie Holmes celebrated her daughter Suri Cruise’s 15th birthday with a sweet Instagram post featuring never-seen-before photos of her only child.

On Sunday, the Dawson’s Creek star, 42, uploaded the black and white images of Suri, whom she had with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, 58.

‘Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!! I can’t believe you are already 15!’ Katie captioned the set of three snaps. She added three heart and smiley face emojis.

The trio of images were all of the teenager when she was younger. 

In the first image, Suri is shown sitting down in a kitchen looking over at the boy beside her who was eating from a bowl. Another boy was standing behind her, holding the back of a wooden chair.

There was a drawing of a tree under a shining sun with the words ‘Happy Birthday Beanie’ on the wall behind the children.

In the second photo, the Batman Begins actress tenderly embraced her daughter who was wearing white lace and had a white bow tied in her hair.

The last image showed Suri wrapping her arms around her mom’s neck in a tight hug. 

The duo were both clad in plaid shirts and had their hair pulled back, with Katie’s brown locks tied up in a topknot.   

Suri smiled and scrunched up her eyes in the photo with her cheek pressed against the side of Katie’s face.

The adoring mother is extremely protective of her daughter’s privacy. Though Katie regularly posts a tribute to Suri on her birthday, she usually crops her child out of the photos or does not show her face. 

The Ohio native had a whirlwind romance with the Mission: Impossible star, whom she met in April 2005. The couple, nicknamed TomKat by the press, got engaged just seven weeks after meeting. 

Suri was born a year later on April 18, the anniversary of the former couple’s first date. Tom and Katie tied the knot in November 2016.

This is the second birthday that Suri has celebrated during the pandemic. Last year, her doting mom held a socially distanced birthday party for the teen.

In a piece Katie penned for the November 2020 issue of Vogue Australia, the actress reflected on how lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic had brought her closer to her daughter.

She wrote, ‘Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be.

‘To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift.’
