Kirstie Allsopp pulls out of Location, Location, Location filming after being rushed to hospital following horror fall down a flight of stairs in a London pub
Kirstie Allsopp has been forced to pull out filming the new series of Location, Location, Location after falling down a flight of stairs in a London pub.
The presenter, 52, was left ‘battered and bruised’ following the accident, after which emergency services were called and she was rushed to hospital.
Confirming her hospitalisation on Instagram, she told followers: ‘Today is Wednesday, and it’s a working day. I should be out filming Location, Location, Location.
‘Except yesterday, when we were in a pub in Stoke Newington, filming a chat with our lovely house hunters Beth and Rory, I went off to the loo.
‘And unfortunately I got something wrong and I ended up falling down an entire flight of stairs.’

Kirsty wrote: ‘I am battered & bruised and putting my pants on is a struggle but I’ll be back on track soon’
Kirsty added that she feels incredibly lucky not to have broken any bones but was left in extreme pain after the fall.
She said: ‘It was, I think without a doubt, the scariest thing and most painful thing I have ever done in my life and I feel immensely blessed to be lying here in bed and not having broken anything. I’m bruised and battered.
‘I went and had an x-ray and a CT scan. And I’ve been looked over by a lovely doctor.’
Kirsty thanked the paramedics who came and lifted her off the floor and apologised to the crew members who heard her screams in their earpieces during the fall.
The star added that her co-star Phil Spencer will be stepping in for her on the show, saying: ‘Hopefully if I am feeling up to it I will Facetime them to give my advice from bed.’
Kirsty has been advised by doctors to get plenty of bed rest and her bruises mean that ‘sitting or going in the car is out of the question’.
She said: ‘Sadly that spa weekend I was taking my sister on is no longer happening, but I am really grateful, to be honest it was quite comic…
‘When I was lying with my dress around my waist on the pub floor, I thought, ‘Oh my god there is a comic element to it.’
‘There were so many people that were so kind and helpful, Bernie from Enfield, Hayley from New York, and you know, you rely on the kindness of strangers when you are in that situation so I am very grateful.’
Sharing the update on Instagram, Kirsty captioned the clip: ‘News from bed…stupidly I went head first down a pub staircase yesterday morning while filming @c4locationsofficial.
‘I am battered & bruised and putting my pants on is a struggle but I’ll be back on track soon.
‘@PhilSpencerTV is stepping into the breach and is taking over with my house hunters. On L,L,L what comes first is the lovely people who give up their time to house hunt with us and we must never forget that.’
It comes after Phil returned to work on Location, Location, Location earlier this month after losing both his parents in a car accident.
The presenter, 53, announced last month that his parents David, 89, and Anne, 82, had died in a crash on their family farm in Littlebourne, near Canterbury, Kent, as they were making their way to the pub for some lunch.

Heartbreaking: Phil’s parents, David, 89, and Anne, 82, both died last month after their car careened over a bridge and landed upside down in a river
Phil was seen for the first time since their passing in a video shared by Kirstie as she revealed the pair were back on set of their much-loved property show.
Kirstie began the video by explaining: ‘So we’re back at work filming on Location, Location, Location and I didn’t quite know what my next post on Instagram should be.
‘My last post was about Phil’s mum and dad and you all sent such lovely lovely messages and Phil was so grateful…’ prompting Phil to interrupt and confirm: ‘Very grateful, and I haven’t put anything on Instagram either, but I do appreciate peoples’ lovely comments.’
Kirsty added: ‘You see, he’s English and he’s a man, he’s just done really really well so round of applause to Phil for doing that and thank you, you’ve all been so kind.’
She captioned the clip: ‘He’s back at work, and was very, very touched by all your messages, I even managed to get him to say it on Insta. Bless him.’
