Kris Jenner advises Kim to put kids 'first' amid Kanye West divorce

Kris Jenner advises daughter Kim Kardashian to make her children top priority amid Kanye West divorce: ‘The kids come first’

Kim Kardashian is currently in the midst of a divorce from rapper Kanye West, whom she welcomed four children with during the span of their nearly seven year marriage.

And the 40-year-old KUWTK star’s mother Kris Jenner, having gone through two divorces, herself, recently provided her daughter with some helpful advice.

‘I think the most important thing I learned through my experience, both of my experiences, is that the kids come first,’ the 65-year-old manager told WSJ Magazine.

Jenner shares four children, daughters Kim, Kourtney, 41, Khloe, 36, and son Rob, 34, with late husband Robert Kardashian, whom she divorced in 1991.

Kardashian tragically passed away in September 2003, following a months-long battle with esophageal cancer.

She also happens to share two daughter, Kylie, 23, and Kendall, 25, with ex Caitlyn Jenner, 71. The pair were married from 1991 until their finalized divorce in 2015.

Kris continued: ‘If you keep that in the front of your mind and know that they are going to get you through, the love is going to get you through, you know, no matter how much you’re hurting.’

Jenner, recalling her own experiences with divorce, told WSJ that she ‘didn’t want to have a pity party in front of the kids.’

She explained that she would ‘put everybody to bed, and then I would be upset or go to my room and cry myself to sleep,’ instead of acting up in front of the children.

Although things can ‘get really silly’ in divorce and estranged couples can sometimes focus on ‘unnecessary factors,’ Jenner further stressed that the kids must remain top priority.

Since her 2015 divorce from Caitlyn, Kris has found love again with her businessman boyfriend Corey Gamble, 40.

The KKW Beauty founder recently received a response from her estranged spouse, who agreed to the terms of her divorce filing.

A month after it was reported that their split was ‘imminent,’ Kim made the first move alongside her high profile attorney Laura Wasser.

In her initial filing she asked for joint custody over their four children as well as for the court to terminate any need for spousal support.

The SKIMS founder cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split and West’s attorneys finally filed their response on April 9.

West responded amicably, despite reports that the pair aren’t speaking and are only in contact through lawyers.

The Yeezy founder agreed to joint custody, no spousal support, and to the irreconcilable differences case label.

They continue to divide up any shared assets they may have which includes their Hidden Hills home, the Wyoming ranch (with $300K of livestock) where Kanye resides, and millions in art, cars and jewelry.

Making bank: Per their 2014 prenup, the now-billionaire is set to get $1M for every year she was married to the rapper

Details of their prenup were revealed by Radar in 2014, and it has been reported that neither are contesting the terms outlined at this time.

Per the agreement Kim was set to get $1M for every year she was married to the rapper, with a cap at $10M — which would shell out to roughly $7M dollars at this time.

Additionally the contract outlined that Kim would remain beneficiary on one of his $20M life insurance policies even in the event of a divorce.

At the time of signing Kanye was said to be worth $100M and Kim had a net worth of $40M. They have enormously grown their empires both together and separately since that point, and have attained billionaire status.

Kim and Kanye independently own and operate their businesses so she will still retain control over SKIMS and KKW Beauty, and Kanye has ownership over Yeezy.
