Kylie Minogue sent temperatures soaring in her new music video for eagerly-anticipated track Padam Padam.

The Australian icon, 54, is enjoying a chart comeback with Padam Padam being the opening song for her new album Tension, which is due for release in September.

Her return to the charts comes three years after Disco, her 15th studio album, was released and fans are alight with excitement for the new offering.

In Padam Padam’s steamy video, the quinquagenarian sizzles in a series of racy red numbers complete with a billowing cape on a junkyard background.

In a nod to her dance icon background, she performed an incredible series of moves with her similarly-clad backing dancers.

Lady In Red! The Australian icon, 54, is enjoying a chart comeback with Padam Padam being the opening song for her new album Tension, which is due for release in September

Cheeky! She looked nothing short of incredible in the clip

Drink up! In the diner scenes she sipped on a cup – also in red!

Stunner: She was seen on top of a car with billowing chiffon surrounding her

Upping the sex appeal further, she wore thigh-high red leather boots with a lace-up front paired with a corset and skin-tight one piece.

In anticipation of the new release, she described the new album as a ‘blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high’.

Electro-themed Padam Padam is produced by Lostboy and features the lyrics: ‘When your heart goes / Padam Padam / I hear it and I know / Padam Padam / I know you wanna take me home’.

Kylie said of the album: ‘I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme,’ it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song.

Hot stuff: She reclined in a chair while surrounded by disused cars

Dancing away: Her backing dancers were clad in similar colours

Kicking back: She was then seen in a motel room – also adorned in red – while  reclining on a bed

Wow! She was looking ageless in the scenes as she larked around

‘I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high…

I loved being back in the studio with my collaborators but was also able to benefit from remote recording, which we have all got used to – my mobile studio never left my side for a year and a half!’

‘The album is a mix of songs I have written and songs which really spoke to me. Making this album helped me navigate challenging times and celebrate the now. I hope it accompanies listeners on their own journeys and becomes part of their story.’

Oh my! Her eye make-up perfectly coordinated with the red of her ensemble

Sexy stuff: She wore red leather gloves while sitting in a diner

Woo! The group danced in front of a motel and palm trees
