Live music events to stream during lockdown: All the gigs you can't miss

With lockdown number three under way in the UK, the prospect of watching live music while crammed into a venue with thousands of other concertgoers seems like a long way away.

Thankfully, the stars have got us covered with virtual live gigs to tide us over until we can all finally be in a venue together again sometime in the future.

Until we can be shoulder to shoulder enjoying live music in a venue once the pandemic is over, these virtual live shows are the next best thing to tide us over for the meantime.

From Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco, to K-pop shows and even full-on festivals, there’s something for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their own home.

Here are some of the most unmissable virtual live shows you will want to catch while staying at home to stop the spread of coronavirus.

A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day – January 8

Taking place to celebrate what would have been David Bowie’s 74th birthday and in honour of the firth anniversary of the legendary entertainer’s death, a host of stars will be performing at this amazing virtual gig.

Ticketholders will get the most bang for their buck with stars including Boy George, Taylor Momsen, Yunglud, Duran Duran and Gary Barlow on the line up.

Starting at 6pm on January 8, the concert will be available to stream for 24 hours with tickets and merchandise available here.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco – January 8

Sophie has been our saviour throughout the lockdowns with her infectiously uplifting Kitchen Disco series – which is coming back this Friday.

The singer is also planning to take her Kitchen Disco on a live tour from May – providing it’s able to go ahead – complete with the glitter and sparkles it has become known for.
