Singer Louise Redknapp, 47, has spoken about a pivotal moment in her music career after a heartfelt discussion with her mum over a cup of tea. Louise made the comments while discussing her 2019 single, Breaking Back Together.

The single was featured on Louise’s Heavy Love album, her first release since her divorce from Jamie Redknapp after 19 years of marriage.

Speaking on Steve Anderson’s Such A Good Feeling podcast, the music producer asked Louise how the song came about.

Louise explained that she was staying at her mum’s house at the time with her children, Charley, 17 and Beau, 13.

Louise began by saying that her mum has “a tiny little house” and they were all “crammed in the kitchen, around a tiny table”.

She said that the pair would routinely drop the children off at school and then have a cup of tea together.

Louise went on to say that she would typically need a pep talk and for her mum to reassure her “everything was gonna be alright”.

Louise recalled: “She said to me, ‘You know what Lou, sometimes you have to break to come back together. You are going to have to accept that this isn’t gonna go away overnight’.”

Following the conversation, Louise says she drove to the recording studio.

She told the producers that her mum had said something about “breaking back together”, and that is how “most of that album came about”.

Steve joked that Louise’s mum was owed “some sort of royalty for that”.

To which Louise replied that she “absolutely isn’t”.

It comes after Louise rubbished claims she was in “despair” after ex-husband Jamie welcomed his third son, Raphael, with his wife Frida Redknapp, 38.

“I have my two gorgeous boys that I adore more than anything in the world, the best family around me and I’m having the time of my life with my career and with the most wonderful friends that a girl could hope for.

“I’d like to make it clear that I’m in the most positive of headspace and loving my life.

Jamie announced the birth of Raphael in a beaming Instagram post last month, just five weeks after he wed Swedish model Frida.

Today, he shared a candid snap with his 1.4 million followers when he introduced his new baby to his mum Sandra, 72, and brother Mark, 51.

The first photo shows the doting grandmother cradling the newborn in her arms.

The second snap shows Raphael laid on her lap as Sandra and Mark gaze down at him.
