They placed third during the Love Island 2021 final on Monday night.

And now Faye Winter and Teddy Soares have spoken candidly about their relationship and journey inside the villa in a new ITV interview, with Faye, 26, branding herself ‘fiery’ and telling Teddy, also 26: ‘I can’t sit here and promise you that won’t happen again.’

The blonde bombshell was referring to their expletive-filled row that took place earlier this month, racking up a record-breaking 24,763 Ofcom complaints and prompting viewers to demand Faye’s removal from the villa.

New interview: Faye and Teddy have spoken about their relationship in a new interview, with Faye, 26, telling Teddy, also 26: ‘I can’t promise you that won’t happen again’

When asked what about their relationship makes the romance work, Faye responded: ‘I’m so fiery and Teddy is so cool. He is the coolest guy I know and I’m so fiery. He chills me out.’

Teddy added: ‘I’m the ice to her fire to be honest! Overall we have so much fun together, we take the p*** out of each other and we have our affectionate moments. We’ve got such a fine balance.’

He continued: ‘Even the arguing, I think that’s healthy in every relationship. It’s just how you deal with it.’

Offering up her thoughts, Faye said: ‘That’s why when we made up I said to him I can’t sit here and promise you that that won’t happen again.’

Argument: Faye and Teddy’s argument prompted viewers to demand Faye’s removal from the villa

She then admitted: ‘Because I can’t say that I won’t argue and I won’t shout. That’s not something that’s in me. I am a fiery person.’

However, Faye insisted: ‘Obviously, I know how to deal with things better now.’

The infamous argument took place earlier in August when Faye let rip at Teddy after watching a clip of him in Casa Amor.

The video, shown during the islander’s Movie Night challenge, saw Teddy tell fellow contestant Clarisse Juliette that he was ‘sexually attracted’ to her.

Faye’s rant – branded ‘horrendous’, ‘abusive’, and ‘gaslighting’ by fans of the show – resulted in the most expletive-ridden episode ever, with reports that contestants swore 125 times, while Faye is said to have said ‘f**k’ 57 times.

And in the aftermath of the explosive scenes, Ofcom confirmed the episode received nearly 25,000 complaints.

Elsewhere in their exit interview, the loved-up couple were asked about Millie and Liam – who were crowned the show’s winners on Monday night.

Faye said: ‘I wasn’t surprised in the slightest. They are worthy winners. That’s a relationship that’s been tested to the absolute max and they’ve come back from the brink. What a beautiful couple, inside and out. They are amazing.’

Teddy echoed: ‘Worthy winners as Faye said and when he made her his girlfriend it just showed exactly where they’re at as a couple. Loved it. Loved to see it.’

Liam and Millie won the competition and chose to split the £50,000 prize money, with Toby and Chloe placing second.

Faye and Teddy left the villa in third place, ahead of Kaz and Tyler, who came fourth.

They also revealed that they plan to move in together soon, with Faye admitting she’s not willing to bid her home in Devon goodbye altogether, but insisting that they will split their time between the countryside and Teddy’s London base.

Asked how they plan to make a long distance relationship work, Faye said: ‘We have spoken about it and I think we will likely get a place together but I will probably still spend two, three nights – depending on schedules at work – in Devon.

‘Teddy will still have his own space, to be able to see friends, family but it will be our place and we will still spend time apart until we want to be with each other fully. I think that’s our next step.’

Teddy joked: ‘I think it just depends on how she deals with being away from me!’

‘Depends on how I get on in London, let’s be honest!’ Faye went on.

‘I’m a Devon girl. And I say to Teddy all the time – as long as I’m near a pasty shop and there’s a good pint of cider I should be able to cope for a couple of days a week!

‘You can take the girl out of Devon but you can’t take the Devon out of the girl. Also, we’re going to get Teddy some wellies and he’s going to come down to Devon.’

Teddy then admitted he would be willing to consider a move to Devon.

‘Personally when we’ve spoken about it I’m really open to Devon, anywhere in the UK that gets me closer to Faye,’ he sweetly noted.

Faye said: ‘What a beautiful couple, inside and out. They are amazing’ when speaking about Millie and Liam’s win

The pair also shared that while they were excited to see how their relationship fares in the real world, leaving the Love Island villa was bittersweet.

‘It’s sweet that we’re going home and we get to enjoy each other properly but also it’s sad because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and now it’s over,’ she reflected.

Teddy noted how far they had come as a couple since first meeting, saying: ‘We always said that no matter what was going to happen with our Love Island journey we’ve got our own journey to consider when we get outside of the villa as well.

‘All in all we do kind of feel, as well, as though we’ve just come a long way. A long long way.’

The couple were also invited to look back over their journey in the villa and attempt to sum up the experience.

‘Mine has been an amazing journey with Teddy and he’s taught me a lot about myself,’ began Faye.

‘I’ve also learnt a lot about myself through the whole experience and journey from start to finish,’ she added.

‘The only way you can get anywhere in life and to be able to be happy with someone is to be able to let your guard down and be vulnerable.

‘As hard as that may be. This experience has definitely taught me that.’

Teddy said: ‘It’s been more than I would have asked for and expected. No regrets from what I’ve done and where we’ve come from in the villa; from the beginning all the way through to the end.

‘It’s taught me how vulnerable I can be and I think it’s very important for all men to tap into that side of themselves as opposed to kind of just being macho and running away from situations.’

Honest: Teddy also admitted that although he was instantly drawn to Faye’s personality, looks wise, he also had his eye on another islander when he first entered the villa

Teddy also admitted that although he was instantly drawn to Faye’s personality, looks wise, he also had his eye on another islander when he first entered the villa as a bombshell in July.

‘Faye was always, if I’m honest, top two. In terms of just looks alone. Then when it came to personality it was just here, she was top one!’

Faye was quick to query: ‘Who was your second one of the two?!’ to which Teddy replied: ‘In terms of looks I thought Lucinda was good looking.’

Taking it in her stride, Faye responded: ‘Shock! She was beautiful.’

Teddy continued: ‘[With Faye] there were sparks straight away.

‘Having conversations, taking the mick out of each other and whatnot – it just felt natural. It felt easy.’

Faye was quick to make it clear she was also immediately drawn to Teddy.

Faye clarified: ‘I can’t say that I won’t argue and I won’t shout. That’s not something that’s in me. I am a fiery person’

‘I instantly was drawn to Teddy. I thought he was SO FIT!’ she gushed.

‘I obviously had three girls to fight over him with. I was one of four, all fighting for Teddy.

‘I can’t flirt to save my own life so I just strategically placed myself around the villa and it seemed to work, didn’t it?’

Teddy said: ‘It did work!’ before Faye sweetly added: ‘My Love Island journey started when Teddy walked in and what a journey it’s been!’

As for making it to the show’s final, Faye described the experience as ‘unreal’.

‘You couldn’t have believed it could you?’ she began. ‘There’s no way that I would have thought for one second that we would have been there.’

Teddy said: ‘There was a point – maybe a week before – when I made her my girlfriend, at that point it was like we got what we came for in Love Island.’

He added: ‘I think getting to the final was our own little achievement. Everything was just our own extra achievement.’

Sharing her appreciation for the viewers that voted for her, Faye said: ‘And to know as well that people had supported us – it’s been very real and although that might be a hindrance with some things that happened, it’s so real that hopefully people can understand.’

She concluded: ‘Yes each person has insecurities but you should be there to help each other with them. It’s just been amazing! Finalists baby!’
