Griffith added, ‘If you lay in the sun, are exposed to lots of sun, be CAREFUL. Use sun screen. Get checked out by your Dermatologist.’

She then offered: ‘If you don’t have one, get one, or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it.’

Griffith is not wrong about using dermabrasion to remove cancer cells.

According to Northwestern Medicine it works.

And the site walked through the process.

‘During dermabrasion, your doctor numbs your skin with anesthetics. You might also have the option of taking a sedative or receiving general anesthesia, depending on the extent of your treatment,’ the site shared.

‘Skin treated with dermabrasion will be sensitive and blotchy for several weeks. It might take about three months for your skin tone to return to normal.’

The daughter of The Birds actress Tippi Hedren, 93 – who runs the The Roar Foundation/Shambala Preserve – admitted her fear at the prospect of losing her livelihood in the wake of the surgery.

‘It’s a scary thing when you’re an actress and you depend on your face for work,’ the beauty told InStyle. ‘But I realize I have to put a Band-Aid on it, and it’s fine. I just look like a dork.’

Her battle with skin cancer goes back 15 years.  In 2009 she was seen with a black eye which was the result of skin cancer.

Griffith confirmed she acquired the black eye during surgery to remove the early stages of skin cancer from her face.

Her spokesman, Robin Baum, said the cancer-removing procedure had been performed early enough to prevent further complications.
