‘My new car will be flash!’ Katie Price boasts about buying a swanky motor… after narrowly avoiding jail for horror drink-drive crash

Katie Price boasted about buying a ‘flash’ new car on Saturday in an Instagram post, just a few months after narrowly avoiding jail following a horror drink-drive crash.

The former glamour model, 43, took to her Instagram Story to share a picture riding her beloved horse Wallis and joked that she was keen to find a motor that is ‘flash like him’.

It comes after last September Katie completed a court assigned rehab order following her car accident, after which she tested positive for alcohol and Class A drug cocaine.

Oh dear: Katie Price boasted about buying a ‘flash’ new car on Saturday in an Instagram post, just a few months after narrowly avoiding jail following a horror drink-drive crash

In the snap Katie put on a confident display as she rode the horse around the paddock in the winter sunshine.

‘I love him,’ she captioned the video originally posted by a friend at the stables. ‘I’ve had him 14 years and he still acts like a five-year-old.

Katie added: ‘I’ll make sure my new car will be flash like him.’

Last December Katie issued a grovelling apology after avoiding jail for her drug and booze-fuelled car crash.

She said she was ‘incredibly sorry’ and was working hard to address her mental health issues.

She said: ‘It’s been a really difficult time and I’m incredibly sorry for my actions – I’m sincerely grateful nobody was hurt.’

The mum-of-five added: ‘I’m spending time getting better – mental health is a hidden illness and can strike at any time.’

Campaigners were furious after the mum of-five walked free from court, despite crashing her Range Rover near her Sussex home in September during her fifth driving ban.

She told police at the scene: ‘I took drugs. I should not be driving. I admit it all’.

But Katie escaped with a 16-week suspended sentence for drink-driving after going into rehab.

Sentencing, District Judge Amanda Kelly said: ‘When you chose to get behind the wheel that night you showed no concern for others.

‘You could have killed somebody. Your actions meant the emergency services had to use up their precious time.

‘You knowingly and deliberately flouted a court order and not for the first time. You seem to think you are above the law.’

The judge also said Katie, who has six previous driving convictions, had ‘one of the worst driving records I have ever seen’.

Having her say: Katie released a statement via her Instagram page in which she apologised for the incident and said she was ‘sincerely grateful nobody was hurt’

Apology: She said she is now working to understand the ‘triggers that cause my anxiety and behaviour’

She added: ‘The public may well be appalled to know I am not able to send you to prison today… you deserve to spend Christmas behind bars.’

The model has no driving licence after being disqualified for two years in October 2019 – and has been banned from the roads six times in total.

The three charges were using a motor vehicle on a public place without third party insurance; driving while unfit to drive through drink; and driving while disqualified. Katie had been taken to hospital but is not thought to have been badly injured.

The star is mum to Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, who she shares with Peter Andre, as well as Jett, eight, and Bunny, seven, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler and Harvey, 18, with Dwight Yorke.
