Sydney-born Paul Hogan is longing to call Australia home once more.

But the 83-year-old Crocodile Dundee comedy icon, who is based in Los Angeles, says he won’t leave behind his adult son Chance, who was born in the USA.

He currently shares a home in Venice Beach with Chance, 24, a punk rocker, who Hogan describes as ‘American’.

‘The only family [Chance has got] is me,’ Hogan told the publication.

All of Chance’s close relatives, including his grandparents, have died, the Aussie superstar said.

And even though, Chance, says Hogan, loves to visit Australia, his home is in the US.

‘All his friends, his band, musician mates, girlfriends, everything – they’re all American.’

‘He only has me, whereas my tribe at home, they’ve all got each other,’ the fan favourite told the publication.

Chance is Hogan’s youngest child, who he shares with his Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski, 74.

He left his first wife Noelene to pursue a love affair with much-younger Linda, now 74, and they wed in 1990. Chance is their only son.

He moved to Los Angeles in 2005 with Kozlowski. The couple split in 2013 and Paul has played a primary role in raising Chance.

‘I’ve been homesick for years,’ he said during the interview on Friday. ‘I miss the people, the ambience – and there’s something you just can’t put your finger on, but there’s something about Australia that is friendlier and more laid-back.

‘It never takes itself seriously – there’s no arrogance like there is in other places.’
