Pauly Shore calls out Jimmy Kimmel for humiliating Oscars joke

‘Human beings have feelings’: Pauly Shore calls out Jimmy Kimmel for humiliating him with Oscars joke… after both of his Encino Man co-stars took home top honors

Pauly Shore is speaking out about being the butt of Jimmy Kimmel’s joke at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday, where both of Shore’s Encino Man co-stars took home Oscar gold.

The 55-year-old comedian – who was blasted during Kimmel’s epic opening monologue – spoke to Page Six on Monday and revealed that he was used to being raked over the coals.

Shore starred alongside newly minted Oscar winners Brendan Fraser, 54, and Ke Huy Quan, 51, in the 1992 comedy about geeky teenagers who thaw a frozen caveman back to life in Los Angeles.

Kicking off Hollywood’s biggest night, Kimmel said: ‘Two actors from Encino Man are nominated for Oscars. What an incredible night this must be for the two of you and what a difficult night it must be for Pauly Shore.’

‘We love to hate people when they’re on top,’ Shore told Page Six, speaking about his career decline. ‘People wanted to smash me down and they did. I was always nice to everyone, always cool, I put my heart into my all my films.’

‘Human beings have feelings’: Pauly Shore called out Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel on Monday for making him the butt of a joke after two of his 1992 Encino Man co-stars both won Oscars

Pulling no punches: Kicking off Hollywood’s biggest night, Kimmel, 55, said, ‘Two actors from Encino Man are nominated for Oscars. What an incredible night this must be for the two of you and what a difficult night it must be for Pauly Shore’

Old friends win big: Shore starred alongside newly minted Oscar winners Brendan Fraser (Best Actor, left, 54) and Ke Huy Quan (Best Supporting Actor, right, 51) in the 1992 comedy about geeky teenagers who thaw a frozen caveman back to life in Los Angeles

Fraser took home Best Actor for his astounding performance in The Whale, while Quan’s acclaimed turn in the Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All at Once earned him Best Supporting Actor.

Both Fraser and Quan cemented their astonishing Hollywood comebacks with their wins on Sunday night, ending their respective turns in the professional wilderness as both saw their once-hot careers turn cold for decades.

Even though his own Hollywood comeback is still on ice, Shore couldn’t be happier for his two former co-stars: ‘It’s a big deal, I’m happy for these guys. We did a movie together years ago and I’m glad that people still talk about it 30 years later. It’s crazy.’

Shore went on to comment on the brutal nature of Hollywood, saying: ‘You’re buying and selling a human being. Human beings have feelings, it’s not like selling real estate.’

Pauly took the high road on Monday when he posted video of Kimmel’s takedown to Instagram and penned a gracious caption.

‘I don’t know if you guys saw the Oscars last night, but @jimmykimmel poked fun at me in the monologue. If you haven’t checked it out, watch this clip. Very funny — I really loved it.

‘But what I REALLY loved is that my old buddies from back in the day, Brendan Fraser and @KeHuyQuan, took home the Oscars. What a story. I mean really guys, what a f***in’ story.’

The Son in Law star’s lengthy caption went on to include a touching message about the takeaways from Fraser and Quan’s triumphant night.

Rolling with it: ‘We love to hate people when they’re on top,’ Shore told Page Six, speaking about his career decline. ‘People wanted to smash me down and they did. I was always nice to everyone, always cool, I put my heart into my all my films’ (pictured with Fraser in their 1992 film Encino Man)

A good sport: Even though his own Hollywood comeback is still on ice, Shore couldn’t be happier for his two former co-stars. ‘It’s a big deal, I’m happy for these guys.
