Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared a beautiful new picture of their daughter, Princess Charlotte.
In the image, six year old Charlotte is delicately holding a butterfly in her hands as she gazes down at it.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared the picture on their social media accounts, with the message: "We wanted to share these beautiful Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies as part of Big #ButterflyCount initiative taking place across the UK.
"@savebutterflies are encouraging us all to count these incredible creatures because not only are they beautiful creatures to be around but they are also extremely important. Butterflies are vital parts of the ecosystem as both pollinators and components of the food chain.
"Hopefully you can beat last year's total, @savebutterflies.”
Charlotte, who is sister to Prince George and Prince Louis, is wearing a blue T-shirt and pink shorts in the picture.
Royal fans were delighted to see the new snap of the youngster with one person writing: “So adorable and for a great cause!”
Another said: “Beautiful photos and cause. Thank you for sharing.”
A third commented: “Beautiful pictures and Princess Charlotte is getting so big.”
The series of photographs, which also include close-up shots of butterflies, were taken by Kate recently in Norfolk.
