Sting, 71, showcases his age-defying looks and buff biceps on stage

Meanwhile in Scarborough… Sting, 71, showcases his age-defying looks as he takes to the stage on world tour – while 200 miles away Elton John, 76, puts on the ‘greatest Glastonbury show ever’

Sting proved that age was just a number as he took to the stage in Scarborough on Sunday.

Performing as part of his My Songs world tour, the musician, 71, showcased his age-defying looks as he wowed the seaside crowd.

While 200 miles away in Somerset Sir Elton John was performing to 100,000 fans in what has been described as the ‘greatest Glastonbury show ever’, Sting was belting out his hits on a decidedly smaller scale.

The musician looked incredible in a tight grey t-shirt, with cut-off sleeves emphasising his muscles, while also sporting his bleached blonde locks and sun-kissed tan.

The 17-time Grammy winner delighted fans at the outdoor show with a collection of his favourite songs – including tracks from his time with The Police.

Elsewhere… The night was perhaps overshadowed by Sir Elton John’s final performance of his last UK tour which was hailed as the ‘best Glastonbury headliner ever’

The night was perhaps overshadowed by Sir Elton John’s final performance of his last UK tour.

That set was hailed by fans as the ‘best Glastonbury headliner ever’ as he closed the world-renowned festival on Sunday night.

The superstar singer, 76, tearfully took to Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage for the final UK show of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

After hundreds of thousands gathered at Worthy Farm and millions tuned in to watch Elton’s final farewell, fans have branded the performance a triumph.

Meanwhile, it may come as no surprise to fans that Sting looks so good.

Sting has said previously that vanity and a bit of discipline have kept him looking in shape over the years and he is known for practicing Ashtanga yoga.

Last year, he gave fans an insight into his daily routine and showed off the secret to his flat stomach with his new exercise called a ‘perpetual crunch’ on TikTok.

Most notably, the chart topper, who is married to Trudie Styler, admitted in 1990 that he had seven-hour tantric sex sessions.

Stylish: He paired the look with slim white jeans and brown shoes

Clarifying his infamous statement during an interview for Bravo series Inside The Actor’s Studio, in 2014, he said: ‘If we had seven hours, I would demonstrate.

‘Maybe not. But there is some truth to it.

‘The idea of tantric sex is a spiritual act. I don’t know any purer and better way of expressing a love for another individual than sharing that wonderful, I call it, ‘sacrament.’ I would stand by it. Not seven hours, but the idea.’

He then quipped, ‘Seven hours includes movie and dinner’.

In 2011, Trudie said her husband’s original claim about their love life was a drunken boast.

But while she poured scorn on the idea they were ‘doing it all day long’, she pointedly stopped short of saying he had lied about the yoga-related practice.

She said: ‘Sting said that 21 years ago. He has just turned 60, and I imagine [the tantric story] will carry on going until he drops.

‘Do you know who I blame for that? Bob Geldof. Him and Sting had gone to do an interview with a rock journalist, and the interview turned into a drinking session.

‘At one point, the journalist asked how long they could go for, and Geldof said he was a three-minute man, but, as Sting did yoga, he could probably go for hours. And Sting said “Well, haven’t you heard of tantric sex?”

‘So Sting explained that it is all about being intimate, about caring for your partner, really engaging in intimacy before you, you know… have sex. And that’s the premise of tantra, really.

‘It’s simply engagement with your partner.’

The musician – real name Gordon Sumner – has had an illustrious career spanning 50 years and boasts an impressive catalogue with hits including Roxanne, Every Breath You Take and Shape Of My Heart.

Sting is one of the most successful artists in the world, with over 100 million albums sold worldwide, while he’s bagged 17 Grammy Awards as well as an Ivor Novello award.

In 2003, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, while he’s released five studio albums with the Police and his 14th solo studio album, The Bridge, is set to come out on Friday.
