Tina O’Brien reprised her role as feisty Sarah Platt on Coronation Street in 2015 after being away for eight years.
The mum-of-two originally joined the long-running ITV soap in 1999 but left in 2007 when her character departed for Milan along with her little girl Bethany.
Tina's character Sarah then returned to the cobbles when her onscreen daughter went back to Weatherfield without Sarah’s permission and has been on the Street ever since – even though her original contract wasn't that long.
Speaking about the role, the 37-year-old admitted she feels "incredibly lucky" to still be starring in Coronation Street.
"Oh wow, if I knew then what I knew now, I would have been over the moon.
"I think I got a three month contract to begin with and I was just hoping to get through the first three months here and hopefully stay."
Discussing the unpredictable life expectancy as a soap character where dramatic disasters and crazed homicidal maniacs lurk around every corner, Tina said: “Nobody has any idea at all.
"I feel incredibly lucky to be where I am and be part of such an amazing family."
Next week on the cobbles will see Sarah and business partner Cara Connor set out to get revenge on cheat Lucas Kempton.
Even though Carla rejected Lucas’ romantic advances she did agree to continue doing business with him for Underworld.
However, when she tries to chase him for payment she discovers his phone number has been disconnected and no longer in use.
