Ulrika Jonsson gives Louise Redknapp sage advice following her split

‘Your divorce is your past, not your future’: Ulrika Jonsson gives Louise Redknapp sage advice following her split as she reflects on her own romantic woes

Ulrika Jonsson has given Louise Redknapp sage advice following her split from ex Jamie, saying her divorce is her ‘past’ and not her future.

The presenter, 53, gave her words of wisdom in her column for The Sun on Friday where she also reflected on her own romance woes, namely her three divorces from Brian Monet, Lance Gerrard-Wright, and John Turnbull, respectively.

Sharing her thoughts on divorce, Ulrika said that while her own break-ups made her feel ‘damaged’ and ‘flawed’ she felt that divorcees like her and Louise should feel emancipated by the dissolution of a marriage.

Ulrika said: ‘My three divorces left me feeling damaged, flawed. Not by my desire to free myself from relationships that no longer fitted me, but by society’s perception and the whole horrendously punitive process itself.

‘So, I hope Louise and all the other divorcees out there, male and female, can unchain and emancipate themselves, believe their divorce is their past and not their future.’

She went on: ‘I keep hearing this negative talk and have come to realise that the end of a relationship or, indeed, a marriage should not be deemed a failure. We need to change the narrative about divorce.’

Ulrika added that a couple’s split should not be seen as either person’s fault, and that it should instead be seen as a ‘good thing’ and an occasion to ‘be celebrated’.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Louise had been ‘knocked sideways’ by the news that her ex-husband is expecting a baby with girlfriend Frida Anderson.

Sources claimed that Louise, who has two sons with the footballer, 47, has been left shocked by the news but is happy for her ex.

Jamie, who split from Louise in 2017, is reportedly set to welcome a baby with his model girlfriend Frida in November, after the pair were first linked back in August.

A source told OK! that Louise is ‘happy’ for her ex-husband Jamie, but was ‘shocked’.

The former couple have continued to co-parent their sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, after divorcing three years ago.

The source said: ‘Louise was knocked sideways by the news… She’s happy for them both and says life goes on but at the same time, she’s shocked by how quickly he’s moved on and that he’ll be a new dad again at nearly 50…

‘A new baby is always a joy but she is concerned at how it will impact their family dynamic.’

After one posted  ‘Lovely news on your new baby. Congratulations to both,’ the model promptly replied with a thank-you emoji.

She repeated the gesture with a second post, which read: ‘Congratulations on your new baby.’ The couple, who have been linked since August, are said to be ecstatic and the baby is reportedly due in November.

They added that the couple started telling their ‘nearest and dearest’ about their reported news in recent days, including Jamie’s dad Harry and his wife Sandra.

Football legend Harry weighed in on it during a TalkRadio interview with Julia Hartley-Brewer on Tuesday.
