I’m 49 & people are amazed my skin looks so good – the 7 ways I’ve stopped ageing & no, you don’t need to avoid the sun | The Sun

A BEAUTY enthusiast has shared the seven easy ways that have helped her to stop ageing at 49.

Laura Koniver, 49, took to TikTok to reveal how touching grass helped her avoid wrinkles, as well as six other tips to slow down the ageing process.

Move your body

According to the beauty whizz, believed to be from the US, it's essential to move your body and keep active.

''As you age, you want to keep your muscle mass high,'' explained Laura, adding you should aim to exercise to the point where you're out of breath every day.

''You want your core and your balance to be good so that your quality of life stays high as you age.''

For those not into gym workouts or running, Laura claimed that going to a sauna ''offers similar longevity benefits''.

Soak up the sun

Another practice she swore by was not avoiding sun – contrary to what many may believe, the beauty whizz urged to be out in the sun every single day.

''There was a huge medical study published in the journal of Internal Medicine that showed that avoiding sun shortened your lifespan more than if you were a heavy smoker who bathed in the sun.''

Touching the earth

Laura, who posts under the username @laurakonivermd, also chatted about ''grounding'' in her video.

This, she explained, involves simply going outside and ''touching the earth''.

According to Laura, there are plenty of studies to support this – research has shown that touching the grass can boost circulation, as well as support heart and lung function.

Other benefits include lowering cholesterol, deepening sleep, keeping metabolism boosted and reducing stress.

''Just 15 minutes a day makes a difference.''

Hydration station

Just as key, Laura noted, was keeping your hydration levels high – and if possible, filtering the water before drinking it.

''I add some trace mineral drops to my water.''

Supplements

As well as swearing by trace minerals – which are said to help with hormone production, metabolism and muscle contraction -Laura also takes a number of supplements.

She explained: ''It's almost impossible to get sufficient quantitates of some of these nutrients through diet alone.

''I take Omega-3 fatty acids, glutathione, curcumin, magnesium, pomegranate, vitamin D, CBD,'' the whizz added.

Night, night

Poor sleep has long been linked to mood disorders, as well as accelerated ageing, said Laura.

When having a good night's rest, your collagen is ''actually repaired'' -and it can also help with weight loss.

Let's get creative

Last but certainly not least, Laura also chatted about expressing your ''energetic body''.

''I rally encourage you to have some way to create, so that you bring new energy flushing through your system.
