A BABY that can't get to sleep makes for an equally tired parent.
On a TikTok account dedicated to "showing the ins and outs of raising a baby," a dad expressed that his daughter was constipated for nearly a week, making it hard for both of them to catch some z's.
Luckily, the determined man found a solution to help his daughter drift off.
In his video, he explained that despite being on an exclusive liquid gold diet, which is known to be better for babies' intestines at an early age, she still couldn't use the bathroom.
The baby was in serious pain, and because she was in so much pain, she, unfortunately, couldn't sleep at night.
"And when babies don't sleep, parents don't sleep either," the father noted.

I’m a gentle parent – my kid ruined one of my beauty products, how I handled it
Throughout the five-day period that his daughter was constipated, the dad found a way to help her finally get some rest.
According to him, the best way to put a constipated baby to bed is to lay them across your chest and slowly pat their stomach.
"Babies that are constipated typically like the relief that pressure brings to their stomach," he explained.
"Another great way to do this is to lay the baby on their stomach across your legs.

"Trust me, if you do this your baby will be asleep in no time."
People in the comments had plenty of advice to give to prevent constipation.
"It can be normal for a breastfed baby to go up to a week without pooping. But you can dilute prune juice to help them go," someone advised.
"You got to move their little legs as if the are riding a bike," added another.
Once again recommending the juice method, someone said: Mix some warm prune juice with warm apple juice and a little sugar… Then stand back… Or get suppositories from your pediatrician."
Others claimed that these methods wouldn't hurt the baby: "Diluted apple juice and or water, doesn’t matter how young she is. It won’t hurt her. I have a new baby. Works wonders."
