EVERY year we get sent some wonderful – and weird – products to try out. There are some that we go on to buy and use regularly.
Here are the health and beauty heroes we could no longer live without – from super supplements to gorgeous creams that leave skin silky smooth.

FORTH HEALTH CHECKS – In a time when we haven’t been able to see the doctor whenever we would like, this has been brilliant. Using a blood sample from a prick of your finger, they do all kinds of tests at home – from measuring key hormones to liver and vitamin checks.
Plus, the great app means you can repeat tests and access past results. I was shocked how bad my omega levels were. Tests from £35 plus £5 for add-on tests, forthwithlife.co.uk.
NUFFIELD GYM – How can a gym be one of my favourites? Well, during the past year when there have been some pretty stressful times, being a member of Nuffield gym in Manchester has helped me in so many ways.
It has classes you can go to, personal trainers who can show you what to do and offer support, and boxing bags you can punch to de-stress.
Plus, I’ve found logging on to its digital platform for meditation and mindfulness sessions amazing. From £31 a month for full membership, nuffieldhealth.com.
SUPPLEMENTS – Since writing this health column, and taking a course in nutrition, I always take probiotics for gut health and magnesium for mood and sleep. Now I also take collagen for my skin. I have tried loads and now regularly buy my favourite, Rejuvenated collagen shots.
They contain 10,000mg of marine collagen per serving. When I don’t take them I notice it in my skin. £44.95 for 24 sachets or a pouch of 30 servings.

BUDGET – Frank Body charcoal body scrub and mask (£14.95, 140g, cultbeauty.co.uk): Coffee scrub made from more than 98 per cent naturally derived ingredients. Caffeine is used to firm and tone the skin, while charcoal draws out impurities to reduce breakouts.
Grapeseed oil softens and hydrates while milk thistle oil combats premature ageing. Coffee scrubs can be messy but this was a dream. The pouch lets you dispense the right amount. I scrubbed and left it on for five minutes before rinsing. Skin felt soft as silk after.
MID – Paula’s Choice, liquid exfoliant (£31, 118ml, feelunique.com): A lightweight liquid exfoliant containing two per cent salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells as well as reduce blackheads and enlarged pores. Easily applied with a cotton pad and gentle enough to use daily. I noticed a difference after only a few days. This hugely improved skin tone. As well as reducing blemishes, this left my skin glowing – like it was brand new and baby-soft. This is now a permanent part of my skincare routine.
LUXURY – Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix, (£148, 50ml, uk.elemis.com): This anti-ageing night cream helps target deep-set wrinkles and fine lines. Padina pavonica, a brown algae, boosts hydration and is said to target areas of stress on the skin for a plumper, younger-looking complexion. This has a gorgeous texture, in between a balm and a cream. Soft and soothing and your skin feels bright and renewed. Pricey but one of the best. Available in 15ml for £51.50 for those keen to try.
