Adele’s Las Vegas shows ‘set to be rescheduled for this summer’

Adele’s Las Vegas residency could be back on the cards for this summer, after it was postponed just 24 hours ahead of the first show in January.

According to sources, her team is now reportedly in talks with Caesars Palace bosses to book up as-yet-unfilled dates at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum between June and September 2022.

As it stands, the venue is fully booked until June 18 with shows from the likes of Keith Urban, Rod Stewart and Sting.

However, between Sting’s final performance on June 18 and Rod’s return for a second block beginning on September 23, the calendar is showing as empty.

As Adele is already committed to performing at British Summer Time on July 1 and 2, the Caesars Palace team is said to be hoping she’ll fly back straight after that engagement.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘That is the scheduling that would make the most sense.

‘Talks are ongoing at the moment, and the hope is that Adele’s rearranged dates will be agreed very soon.

‘She has made it clear that next year is not an option, and everyone is keen to lock the dates in.’

The 33-year-old singer had uploaded a tearful video in January to break the news to her fans, saying she was ‘so upset and really embarrassed’ to have to postpone the shows.

‘We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to pull it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid,’ the star revealed.

‘Half my crew, half my team have come down with Covid – they still are – and it’s been impossible to finish the show.

‘And I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted. I’m gutted and I’m sorry it’s so last minute.

‘We’ve been awake for over 30 hours now, trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time.’

She later thanked her fans for their support, and FaceTimed around 50 ticketholders who made the journey to Las Vegas.

People had been left uncertain about the future of the shows, after photos emerged of the stage being dismantled at the end of January.

In the snaps, the crew are seen packing the set into a truck outside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and parts of the stage and props were taken away by crew members donning masks.

Since then, the star has made a triumphant return at the Brits, bagging three awards – album, artist and song of the year – as she stunned in a black gown with spotted veil detailing and set tongues wagging with a large diamond ring.

The Someone Like You chart-topper also put in a cheery appearance on The Graham Norton Show, as she addressed engagement rumours to sports agent boyfriend Rich Paul in her own Adele way – before heading to Heaven nightclub for a surprise appearance at G-A-Y’s Porn Idol event alongside Cheryl Hole.

She spoke about her Las Vegas shows too, promising she would announce the rescheduled dates as soon as she was certain the production would be ready and able to go ahead.

The singer also vowed that it definitely be during 2022 as she has ‘plans’ for next year, telling him: ‘We are now working our a**es off, but I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready.

The sooner I can announce the better, but I just can’t in case we are not ready in time. It is absolutely 100% happening this year. It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year.’

‘Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!’
