Amanda Holden has revealed her eldest daughter, Alexa is “obsessed” Love Island as she shared her concerns that she will be the next celebrity child to sign up to the show.

Over the years, the ITV2 dating show has seen a slew of stars with links to their famous family members join the programme in an attempt to find love in the steamy Spanish villa.

In recent years, viewers have watched Dani Dyer, Tommy Fury, Curtis Pritchard, Sophie Piper and Bella Hassan all fight to find love on the popular reality show, and now the blonde bombshell fears her daughter could be next to join.

But during Friday’s instalment of their Heart FM radio show, the mum-of-two, 51, shut down the tempting TV opportunity for the 16-year-old after she became invested in the latest series of the ITV2 dating show.

As Ashley Roberts joined Amanda and Jamie Theakston's radio show, the doting mum confessed she was a little worried about her daughter’s new-found love for the show.

She admitted: “So this is becoming a bit of an obsession with my teenage daughter at home now, who's never taken one scrap of interest in Love Island and now is all over it.

“Which worries me slightly bearing in mind that Michael Owen’s daughter [Gemma Owen] is on it, and I'm like, ‘You ain’t ever going on it, Alexa!’

“But anyways, she’s loving watching it…I can imagine it, and I'm not.”

It was at this point that the former Pussycat Dolls singer teased: “She’s not allowed!” while her co-star begged: “Oh please, it would be perfect for this show.”

But Amanda put her foot down and firmly argued: “Mama said no! She loves me too much; she won’t do it!”

It comes after the up-and-coming model landed her first modelling contract and is lined up to make £1million in her first year.

The teen was snapped up by Storm who helped to establish legendary British fashion model Kate Moss back in the hit 1990s.

It is understood the agency made a beeline for Lexi after spotting her out and about with her loving mum on social media.

But her showbiz mum plans on introducing her daughter into the industry slowly over the next 24 months meaning she can hit the ground running when she turns 18.
