APITS’ Lucy Alexander feels sexy at 53 as she admits she can still do splits

A Place in the Sun star Lucy Alexander admitted she feels sexy and can still do the splits.

The presenter, 53, is best known for being the face of the BBC series Homes Under The Hammer but has now made the move to Channel 4.

The TV star has become an instant hit with fans since joining the property hunting show and exclusively discussed her new role with Daily Star at the Bafta TV Awards.

Admitting she feels sexy while fronting the show, Lucy said: "Yes I do and I’ll tell you why, my kids are older so I’ve got a 25 year old and an 19 year old, they’re both independent they’ve both got their own lives and I’m free so I can go ‘Bye, see you in a week!'

“It’s made me feel quite young and excited about the whole travelling and doing A Place In The Sun so it’s really come at the best time in my life.”

Shedding some light on how the show is filmed, the presenter revealed it takes five days to film one episode.

“You wear your same dress every single day on the beach. All the viewers think it happens all on one day but it’s actually over five days so by the end of the day I’m absolutely reeking," she said.

The mum-of-two admitted she would love to star on Strictly Come Dancing because she went to dance school.

“I’d love to do strictly and I’ve got dancing in the locker I went to dance school so I can still do the splits at 53," the star explained, adding: "Hopefully I’d lose a couple of stone along the way."

She continued: “Anton, I’ve missed my moment. Because my best friend Ruth Langsford did it and she did it with Anton so I obviously know everything that went on there.

"She loved it she absolutely loved it but I think it frightened the life out of her!”

Lucy continued: “I think I’ve got dancing in the locker and I can still do the splits I’m quite musical and hopefully I’d lose a couple of stone along the way.

Sharing a brief update on Jonny Irwin, who is suffering with terminal cancer, the presenter said: "Yeah I saw him a little while ago, yeah he’s all good.”
