Faye Brookes has “finally” announced her engagement to her beau Iwan Lewis in a gushing post after a whirlwind romance.

The Coronation Street star, 35, has been dating theatre director Iwan since October with the happy couple going Instagram official in late December 2022.

The pair made their first low-key appearance together at the Cirque du Soleil event in the heart of London back in January where the brunette beauty rocked a sparkling rock on her wedding finger.

Now, the soap star has confirmed the rumours with a celebratory post on Instagram as she flashed the sparkler with her partner online.

She captioned the post: “Finally … We’re sharing our engagement” as they beamed beside each other while sharing a loving embrace.

Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “We’ve waited long enough. I could have said this phrase in the past, ‘When you know, you know’. But I've never truly understood what that really means until now. There’s no doubt, no worries, no cold feet.”

Iwan added: “I don’t care what people think about anything, but the reality is when I look into the eyes of my nearest and dearest, they get it.”

It didn’t take long before her 205k followers showered the happy couple in congratulatory messages immediately after posting.

One user penned: “[three heart-eyes emojis] so happy for you ! Congratulations,” as another agreed: “Congratulations both of you [two applause emojis].”

A third chimed in with: “My heart [white heart emoji] Congratulations to you both!! [heart emojis]” as a fourth chimed in with: “Incredible. Going to be the most stunning bride [heart-eyes emoji].”

The two lovebirds have already booked the church in the Cotswolds and will be waltzing down the aisle this summer.

There will be a marquee, bands and a string quartet, with Faye saying they’d “got the lot sorted”.

In the build-up to the wedding, Faye will be keeping fit on tour with Strictly Ballroom: The Musical for three months before jumping straight into wedding prep.
