Ruth Langsford shares ‘tradition’ as she celebrates milestone family birthday

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have celebrated a milestone birthday in the family, with the Loose Women star sharing a look at her "family tradition".

The former This Morning favourite posted a picture of her dining table all set up with confetti and balloons, as well as pink flowers and napkins emblazoned with "21".

Ruth, 63, explained that the celebration was actually for her and Eamonn's son Jack's girlfriend.

She shared a video to Instagram of the decorations and said: "Jack's girlfriend's 21st birthday… had to do a table didn't I?!"

The beloved television presenter previously hinted at her skill in table decorations, suggesting she does them regularly.

In a similar post for her son Jack's 21st, she said: "A wonderful weekend spent celebrating our son Jack's 21st birthday… where did those years go?!

"Had to do my birthday table of course… it's family tradition!"

In that post, she and Eamonn posed with their only child together, Jack, who was stood in front of huge silver and gold birthday balloons.

There were also metallic decorations on the table.

She wrote at the time: "21 already… how did that happen?! Happy birthday Jack. Love you son."

It's clear Ruth's fans love her lavish celebrations – and that she extended the gesture to Jack's girlfriend.

One person said: "Wish you were my mother-in-law, beautiful."

Another commented: "Beautiful, you will make the perfect mother-in-law."

And a third added: "That is such a nice thing to do for your son's girlfriend! She must really feel like part of the family."

The celebration comes after a tough time for the Holmes-Langsford household, after Eamonn continues with his recovery from a back operation.

The long-standing presenter previously spoke of his chronic pain and had a serious surgery to try and sort him out.

But just weeks later Eamonn fell down the stairs at home and broke his shoulder, setting back his recovery.

In February he was seen using a wheelchair, while he has also been seen using a walking stick.

Then in March, Eamonn revealed he was having to learn how to walk again as he shared a snap of him at a recovery centre in a harness.
