Gemma Collins has always been open about her weight battle, as the star has yo-yoed on the scales since first appearing on TOWIE in 2011.
The reality TV star, who turns 40 today, looks incredible these days as she has shed over three stone in weight after changing her lifestyle.
Gemma is determined to make 2021 her year, and it is already off to a good start – her dad has been released from hospital after falling ill from Covid, she has released a new self-love collection on her boutique and recently closed on her dream home.
But it has been far from an easy journey for the star, who has opened up about her struggles with losing weight in the past.
When Gemma first arrived on The Only Way is Essex, she was a bubbly car saleswoman who stole the show with her outrageous antics and huge personality.
But before she turned up on the show, she was battling PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), a hormonal condition that made it difficult for her to lose weight after her "very slim" twenties.
On the show, she shed a whopping three stone and dyed her blonde hair dark as she went through a dramatic transformation on camera.
Gemma later admitted on Channel 5's In Therapy in 2016 she was motivated by her desire to be in the limelight and to make some money quickly.
The bombshell ended up putting the weight back on, and when she starred on I'm A Celebrity for just three days before abruptly quitting, she was at her heaviest at 21st.
The following year, Gemma was determined to shed the weight and get healthy, resorting to £5,000-a-week 'juice camp' in Portugal, which saw her quickly drop three stone again.
She lived on juices for a month at the special retreat, using exercise and a new routine to break her "addiction" to unhealthy food.
Gemma told Now! Magazine at the time: "I've gone from a size 22 to an 18. I had a bit of 3D lipo and saw a hypnotist called Robert Hisee, who put a hypno gastric band in me!
"Now I have four mouthfuls of food and I can't eat any more. I feel like I can't breathe I'm so full."
In 2017, whilst Gemma has reached new levels of fame after becoming a "meme queen", her personal life took a hit as she was told on TOWIE that her egg count was low and her weight would make it more difficult for her to conceive.
The star could have opted to get a gastric band to shift the weight but decided against it, telling the Sun: "I’m not saying I’ll get to a size 10 but I do need to lose weight.
"For my health I wouldn’t be bigger than I am now. I refuse to have a gastric band as easy as it would be."
Two years later, Gemma's dramatic stint on Dancing on Ice spurred her on to get in shape as the gruelling training soon toned her up.
The star was training with partner Matt Evers for two hours of training, three times a week, which burned around 1,000 calories a session.
Gemma took advantage of the show kickstarting her weight loss as she then told her fans she was using weight loss injections to aid her journey.
The jabs act as an appetite suppressant and cost up to £350 for a four-week programme.
Gemma has once again shed three stone and looks amazing, but the star has revealed that she isn't close to finishing her weight loss journey yet.
She said: "I'd be really happy if I lost six stone as that would bring me down to 12 stone and a size 16."
