John Travolta leads celeb tributes to Olivia Newton-John following icon’s death

John Travolta has paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John following her death at the age of 73.

The beloved Grease star passed away on Monday morning (August 8) at her home in Southern California following a years-long battle with breast cancer.

She is survived by her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 36, and husband of 14 years, John Easterling.

Olivia's death was confirmed on the star's official Facebook page, with John soon sharing his own touching tribute to his late co-star.

Posting to Instagram, John wrote: "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better.

"Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the moment I saw you and forever!

"Your Danny, your John!"

Olivia and John rose to fame in the lead roles of Sandra 'Sandy' Dee and Danny Zuko in the hit 1978 film musical Grease.

Whilst John went on to have a successful career acting career, Olivia launched a successful pop career with tracks including Physical and Xanuda.

As news of Olivia's death spread through Hollywood, more stars lined up to pay tributes to the 'iconic' star.

Star Trek and I'm a Celeb star George Takei wrote: "We have lost a great, iconic artist in Olivia Newton John, gone too soon from us at age 73.

"I trust she is now in the great Xanadu beyond. Know that we are forever hopelessly devoted to you, Olivia. Rest in song and mirth."

Marvel's James Gunn added: "Really sad to hear about the passing of Olivia Newton-John.

"My first real crush as a kid. I loved Grease & her music & I coincidentally also bought & lived in for a while the wonderful home she built in Malibu. May she Rest In Peace."
