Piers Morgan has revealed that his TalkTV colleague Sharon Osbourne tried to strangle him when they first met on America's Got Talent.

The 57-year-old outspoken presenter opened up about his friendship with Mrs O as the both become stars of a brand new network.

Piers Morgan Uncensored mades its debut on Monday (April 25) night and was followed by Sharon's new programme The Talk.

The pair previously worked together on Simon Cowell's talent show in America and it appears that they didn't get off to a good start.

Opening up about their unique bond, Piers explained: "Sharon tried to strangle me when we first met on American's Got Talent.

"She was a new judge and I'd written some terrible thing about her and she decided to try and struggle me over dinner.

"I went back to my room slightly discombobulated with all the NBC execs going 'Oh my god, these Brits are out of control' and Ozzy made Sharon ring me.

"I'd taken a sleeping pills, or I was slightly dozy, and all I remember in the morning was in the middle of the night Ozzy and Sharon on the phone with Sharon apologising and the next day we just went into work like nothing had happened.

"The Americans were like 'these Brits are completely nuts'."

Piers went on to reveal that sometimes he and Sharon often end up in having a tiff but always end up making up afterwards.

He said: "Sharon and I have gone toe-to-toe. We did America's Got Talent together, we'd fly around the world together on these planes they gave us and we'd argue about whether the sky was blue, sometimes just for fun.

"Very spirited, very animated and then we'd have a glass of wine and a great laugh and that I'm afraid is what democracy used to be like."

Piers' TalkTV show Uncensored averaged 317,000 viewers during its first episode on Monday, as the television channel, owned by Rupert Murdoch, beat both Sky News and the BBC News channel during the same timeslot.
