A British TikTok bloke has gone viral with a video he made of three dishes from the United States that he was sure would taste like s**t – but which he ended up quite liking.
Joshua Caudwell – whose handle is “imjoshfromengland2” – has 4.3 million followers who enjoy his reviews of US grub and other aspects of the country.
And he’s released a vid of what he says are three grim-looking dishes that all turned out to be delicious, including one that looks like it’s been spewed up.

In the clip, Joshua, 29, says: “Here are some American foods that look like absolute s**t, but taste amazing.”
He kicks off his food review with a corn dog. A staple of American cuisine, it’s a sausage on a stick coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter and deep fried.
“Let’s be honest, they do not look appetising at all,” says Joshua. “You take one look at a corn dog and you think, ‘No, thank you’. But the minute you dip it in some mustard or ketchup and put it in your mouth, it tastes wonderful.”
He also includes gumbo in his top three. The stew is the official state cuisine of Louisiana and is made of stock, meat or shellfish and a thickener, along with celery, peppers and onions.
It’s not the most stunning looking creation, and in his video Joshua says: “When I first had it, I thought, ‘What is that?’ I thought that the guy in the back had just scooped it out the bin. However, I put it in my mouth. It tasted divine.”
The third fairly revolting-looking American food in the list is biscuits and gravy.
Joshua says: “This straight up looks like vomit, mate. However, you try it, and it is the best American food. It is incredible. I love it!'
There are thousands of comments on the video, with one of Joshua’s followers saying: “Biscuits and gravy is the most British looking dish we got lol.”
Another amusing response is: “Biscuits and gravy looks like British food, except it actually tastes like food, too…”
And there appear to be a lot of gumbo fans, too, with one post simply saying: “GUMBO! Hell yeah!”
