A home has sent Instagram users in a frenzy as it appears bigger on the inside with some odd features that have raised questions about the previous occupants.

The house, in the US state of Colorado, appears to be an ordinary small family home when pictured from the outside but the interior is much bigger, just like the famous Tardis in Doctor Who.

The property, which is listed for $650,000 (approx £477,000) has four bedrooms and two bathrooms but the size seems to be the last thing on the minds of Zillow Gone Wild's followers.

The real-estate agents Instagram account posted the 'wild home' to their verified account showing that the previous owners had built a tiki bar beside a shrine to the Virgin Mary.

They also had a number of Christian crosses scattered around the home and every room was decorated with a different colour scheme and pattern.

The original poster wrote: "I have no idea what’s happening in this $650,000 Denver, CO home but I respect it."

One eagle-eyed Zillow fan even spotted a large black gun safe at the foot of one of the beds as they said: "Ummmm… What. The. F***. Is that a gun safe at the end of the bed?"

However, other users seemed to find the decor of the apartment hysterical as they believe flooring was used in some areas around the home to cover the walls and ceilings and others laughed at the bar being so close to a religious symbol.

One user said: "Is… is that flooring on the walls…?"

Another wrote: "That is deffo a Latin household with all those prayer candles."

A third added: "Colorado never disappoints on a Zillow Gone Wild."

A fourth said: "Not sure if I like the Mary shrine or the stitch shrine better."

According to the property listing on Zillow's website, the property is located in the Ruby Hill neighbourhood of Denver and is a short walk away from local parks and libraries.

The description said: "Welcome to this gorgeous, upgraded home, located in a well sought-after Ruby Hill neighbourhood. It is fully move-in ready and waiting for its new loving owner.
