A slippery criminal has been arrested after he was caught jumping in a stranger's pool and on their trampoline.

Blake Tokman, 34, was completely naked when he was caught in the back garden of a Florida home but was smeared with his own blood, wheel-bearing grease and peppermint oil.

Police from the Volusia County sheriff's office were called to the home on Friday (April 7) at around 2am after receiving reports of a burglary in progress.

"I got one running going westbound behind the fence, he’s naked," one officer can be heard saying.

Body camera footage from the arrest shows the man jumping into the property's swimming pool when deputies arrived.

He then leaped out of the pool and landed face-first on the trampoline as he attempted to make an escape and ended up in a starfish position.

Deputies repeatedly tried to arrest the man, who was bleeding heavily from his head and was slippery from the oil and grease.

He shouted: "What's your name?" each time an officer told him to stop resisting.

“Be careful, he’s slippery,” one of the officers said.

"What’s all over you, man? … It smells like toothpaste … I don’t want to see what’s on me.”

Police later discovered he was covered in “wheel-bearing grease, peppermint oil, and blood,” the latter of which had come from injuries he caused himself during the ordeal.

The owner of the home confirmed he didn't recognise the burglar, and told him he was "lucky he wasn't dead".

Four deputies and three medical professionals were eventually involved in Tokman's arrest as he violently attacked the police.

One officer was kicked so hard he suffered a laceration.

Police have said Tokman was probably under the influence of an unknown substance at the time of the alleged crimes.

Tokman allegedly broke into two other homes before police found him in the stranger’s pool.

He has also been accused of smashing the windows of one house to make entry. Both homes were occupied when he allegedly broke in.

It is unclear what Tokman is accused of taking from the properties.

He has since been charged with occupied burglary, battery on a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief and resisting arrest with violence.
