Birdwatchers have been given the willies after the home of Robin Hood was invaded by naked ramblers and swingers holding orgies.

Families and lone female visitors to Sherwood Forest have also been left all a quiver after bumping into blokes in the buff.

One dad said: “We just brought the kids to see where Robin Hood lived – we weren’t expecting to see anyone’s wobbly bits.”

The RSPB – which owns the forest near Nottingham – has put up warning notices and is begging naturists to stay away.

The home of Robin and his Merry Men is also being targeted by swingers planning outdoor orgies. Bosses called in cops after discovering plans to hold a sex romp there.

The RSPB said: “We acknowledge the legal right of naturists to walk naked. However, with that right comes a responsibility to respect other people. It is our responsibility, meanwhile, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all visitors… and that they have the best possible experience.”

According to the society’s website, it has “tolerated naturism in quieter areas of the land that we are responsible for”, which includes Budby South Forest as well as Sherwood Forest.

“RSPB Budby South Forest has historically had a low number of visitors, so encounters between different groups of people have been scarce,” the site states.

“An increase in visitors enjoying the reserve means we are now addressing how different groups interact as meetings between them become more common. This requires some compromise from everyone.

“Considerate behaviour from all visitors will allow everyone to enjoy the site and still protect sensitive wildlife making a home here.”

But it adds: “Naturism is discouraged in the very busy RSPB Sherwood Forest area. There are quieter areas of RSPB Budby South Forest … where naturism may be tolerated, provided certain behaviours are adhered to.”
