A haunting, shadowy ghost-like figure has been spotted in the back of terrifying photo.
While fishing in the Mojotoro River in the Argentine province of Salta on November 16, two unnamed fishermen took a selfie to commemorate the trip.
But when they looked back at the photo, a wispy figure behind them had seemingly emerged from a tree.
They two friends, who were out fishing with two other people who took the photo, told Cronica News: “This happened last night, we went fishing in the Mojotoro River from 5pm and we stayed there until 10pm, we saw the photos when we got home and we couldn't believe it.
“In the first photo nothing came out and in the second, [in the same position] a shadow appeared, as if it were of a woman with a veil.”
The group quickly left the area, and have not yet returned.
According to local reports, the river is known for creepy paranormal activity, with regular claims of items moving of their own accord, or shadows appearing from nowhere, being a regular occurrence.
The photos of the fisherman – and the creature – were uploaded to the Internet, where many tried to come up with explanations of what it could be.
One of the fisherman reckons that it looks like a “young woman wearing a veil”.

Local officials have not confirmed to Cronica whether or not an investigation will be launched into what the figure really was, despite reports of strange activity increasing year on year.
In 2008, a group of young boys who had gone finishing claimed that they thought someone was throwing rocks at them.
But it turned out that it was actually a goblin – or so they said.
One of the boys said: “Suddenly I heard as if someone was throwing stones at us, I looked to the side and observed that the weeds were moving. I thought of a dog, but when I saw that figure come out with the shape of a goblin it gave me a lot of fear, I filmed it a little and then we all ran away.”
