Alan Halsall’s weight transformation – Corrie co-star workouts to gym routine

Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs star Alan Halsall has been impressing fans with his incredible weight loss transformation in the past few years.

It is reported that Alan started getting into shape following his split from former Coronation Street co-star and Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson in 2013.

Since then, the star has been documenting his weight loss journey on social media, and although Alan has never revealed how much he has lost in total, his transformation has certainly been clear to see.

Here, Daily Star takes a closer look inside Alan Halsall's weight loss transformation – and the secrets behind it.

Gym secrets

One of the secrets behind Alan Halsall's dramatic weight loss transformation is, unsurprisingly, the gym.

The actor took to weight training to lose the inches and tone his body, sharing glimpses of his workouts on Instagram.

Along with lifting weights, his impressive workout also includes completing a 2.5k run, 2.5 miles of cycling, 2.5k of rowing and 2.5k on the cross trainer.

He also revealed that he worked with a personal trainer four or five times a week to gain his impressive body, which he showed off on holiday snaps from Ibiza.

Alan told The Sun: "I’ve had a PT (personal trainer) for about four/five months. I’ve been coming to the gym for a few years now."

In his spare time, to keep fit, he also goes hiking, plays badminton and cycles and, most recently, moved a treadmill into his home.

He captioned the pic: "5K a day," adding there were now "no excuses" for him not to work out.

Diet

Alan has regularly talked about eating before and after workouts, telling The Sun: "I like to come (to the gym). I have a pre-workout meal, I work out, then I have a post-workout meal or a swim and a steam."

The star maintains a healthy diet but also treats himself too, with the star often sharing social media snaps of him with a pint or a glass of wine.

He also shares snaps on Instagram of him going out for food with his friends and family, including at Italian restaurant San Carlos in Manchester.

Working out with Corrie stars

Alan Halsall is not alone in his weight loss transformation, as a number of his fellow Coronation Street co-stars have joined him in recent years.

Stars including Colson Smith and Jennie McAlpine have all shed the pounds in the past decade, with some joining Alan for his work-outs in the gym.

Posting a photo alongside Colson Smith, who had also been through an incredible body transformation of his own, Alan said in the caption: "Trying to work out whilst laughing at @colsonjsmith having fun and working hard.

"Health is not just about the weights you’re lifting or what you’re eating. It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying!"

His workouts with fellow co-stars have also led to romance too, with Alan revealing to OK! Magazine that he joined partner Tisha Merry, who played waitress Steph Britton, at her hot yoga classes.

"I’d really got into hot yoga and someone mentioned that Tisha was going to the same studio so I thought we could go together," said Alan.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
