Danica Taylor has shared her regrets over picking Luca Bish to couple up with in the Love Island villa.
Danica, 21, was a late arrival to the show last summer and faced the daunting decision of which boy to 'steal' on the same day she made her debut.
After having just the one group conversation with the lads before the recoupling, Danica decided to steal Luca, 23, from Gemma Owen, 19 – a decision she went on to regret.
Writing in her first OK! column, Danica penned: “I didn’t have 24 hours to decide which boy to steal last summer – producers gave me literally just one evening. After making my entrance, I had one big group conversation with the boys and no individual chats whatsoever.”
She continued: “Producers then told me there would be a re-coupling that night and I needed to tell them who I was picking before we actually filmed it. After telling them I’d steal Luca, I had to go back upstairs and get ready with the girls – I’d only known them for about an hour and a half at this point.
"As soon as we stood around the fire pit, I instantly thought ‘oh no, why have I done this,’ but I couldn’t turn back because my choice was locked in. It’s so nerve-wracking but ultimately, Islanders know what they’ve signed up for!”
Luca went on to make it to the final of the show with Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma, with the pair going on to date once they left the villa.
Sadly, things didn't last and the pair called time on their relationship in November last year.
In her column with OK!, Danica also discussed one of this series’ bombshells, Zara.
“We both have bombshell energy! She’s absolutely stunning and I’m so glad the boys have seen that,” she wrote.
“It’s a shame that I didn’t have the same response from the guys in my series. Like me, she also has an ethnic background and I feel relieved to see that what happened to me could have been a one-off.
"I’ll be backing her all the way and she’s wasted no time in turning heads. She’s smashing it and I really hope she goes the distance.”
Zara, 25, hails from London, and is a property developer and the director of housing company MADZ, as well as a part-time model, singer, actress and dancer.
Speaking to ITV before heading to Cape Town, she said she’s always loved being on stage and performing, so much so she studied musical theatre and performing arts at the University of Portsmouth.
She said: “I’m fully trained in ballet, tap and jazz and have singing qualifications which let me to get scouted as a model.
“I’ve since go on to do loads of modelling and dancing for music videos for UK and global artists, I’ve worked with people like Hardy Caprio, Headie One, Aitch, Tion Wayne and more.”
Zara is also best pals with former Islander Demi Jones, who went into the Love Island villa in season 6.
