Chicago Med Season 7 returns tonight, April 6 with a new episode. It’s been three weeks since episode 16 aired and fans may have forgotten what their favorite characters were last up to. This quick recap of essential details will help fans get ready for the rest of the season.
Vanessa and Dr. Shentu are getting closer in ‘Chicago Med’ Season 7
In one episode of Chicago Med Season 7, Dr. Randall Shentu takes over a case. He works alongside Vanessa Taylor, who ends up inviting him to go to a concert with her. In episode 16, Vanessa chats with a coworker and reveals that she and Shentu went to brunch, but she hasn’t heard from him in a few days.
Later, a patient enters the hospital with mysterious symptoms. The root of her illness turns out to be stress over her daughter’s upcoming arranged marriage. At the end of the episode, Vanessa tells Dr. Charles she is deleting her dating apps. Then she heads out with Dr. Shentu, telling Charles she isn’t sure if it’s a date, but she’s giving it a chance.
Kristen Hager won’t return as Dr. Stevie Hammer
The last time fans saw Dr. Stevie Hammer, she decided to move back to Michigan to try to patch things up with her husband. The pair were going through a divorce, but in the end, decided to give their marriage another go. Deadline recently confirmed actor Kristen Hager’s departure from the show, so don’t expect to see Dr. Hammer for the rest of season 7.
‘Chicago Med’ Season 7 added Jessy Schram as a series regular
Jessy Schram portrayed Dr. Hannah Asher in seasons 5 and 6 of Chicago Med. In episode 16, Asher returned. Dr. Sharon Goodwin hires her to run Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s new OBGYN service in the ED. Asher left Chicago to go to rehab but in episode 16 she revealed that she is almost two years clean.
Still, Dr. Dean Archer seems skeptical about Hannah’s ability to work in the ED. Fans should also keep in mind that Hannah and Dr. Will Halstead were previously romantically involved, so their reunion when the show returns will be interesting to watch.
Dr. Dylan Scott is facing a conflict of interest
Chicago Med fans know that Dylan Scott was a cop before he became a doctor. In Chicago Med Season 7, he appears to be facing a conflict of interest. Scott met an undercover police officer named Milena, who he at first thought was a drug dealer.
In episode 16, Scott and Maggie treat a man named Devon who was stabbed with scissors. The man was anxious to leave, but Scott wanted to keep him at the hospital a little longer. However, Milena later informed him that Devon is a C.I. and she needed him for a case that evening. Scott complied, but Devon later returned to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
