Coronation Street actors Georgia Taylor and Will Mellor have responded to a fan who claimed that social distancing measures are ‘ruining’ the show.
Since resuming production in the wake of the first national lockdown, all of the soaps have been filming with strict social distancing guidelines in place.
This means that actors have to be two metres apart at all times, which has made filming intimate or intense scenes more difficult to do.
One viewer was less than pleased to discover that these safety measures are still in place after seeing a picture of an upcoming episode featuring the return of villain Harvey Gaskell.
‘And still 2 metres apart!’, said the fan. ‘Its killing the show.
‘Soaps seems to be one of the few places with covid restrictions.’
Actor Will – who plays drugs baron Harvey – jumped in, reassuring the viewer that his character will be getting up close and personal – presumably with his foes – when he returns to the cobbles later this month
