There have been a number of twists and turns for Coronation Street's Stu Carpenter and Yasmeen Metcalfe as they've been desperately trying to clear Stu's name.

But things are about to get even more sticky for the pair as their hopes to take care of Stu's granddaughter is rejected.

After discovering that Lucy and Bridget have both been charged, Stu masks his anxiety for Eliza’s sake as he's unaware of what will become of his daughter Bridget.

Meanwhile Alya’s awash with guilt but Dee-Dee assures her that she did the right thing and played her part well by trying her best to help Stu out of his misery.

Later on, Bridget calls Stu from prison and tells him that she and Lucy have pleaded guilty to murder and she’d like him to take care of Eliza for her while she spends her years behind bars.

After receiving the news, Stu and Yasmeen reel in shock as they are confused with what lies in store.

Later on in the week, Felicity, the social worker, calls at No.6 and explains to Stu and Yasmeen that until his conviction has been officially quashed, Eliza must be taken into care.

Stu is left feeling further devastated as he realises that things are now out of his control.

But will he be able to plea his case to Felicity and convince her that Eliza is welcome in his home and will be well looked after?

After Bridget and her daughter arrived on the cobbles, Stu has been trying his best to mend their broken relationship.

But his ex Lucy has been getting in the way of the family repairing their bond.

Now that Stu finally knows the truth about Lucy and Bridget framing him for murder, will he try to fight for Bridget's freedom to hopefully salvage their relationship?
