EastEnders bombshell as Whitney Dean dumps Gray Atkins after he tries to control her

EASTENDERS has aired a shock twist after Whitney Dean walked out on Gray Atkins after refusing to be controlled by him.

The market trader – who is played by actress Shona McGarty in the BBC soap – was in danger from the serial killer after revealing she knew his ex Chelsea was pregnant.

When Gray discovered Whitney knew that Chelsea was pregnant with his baby, he flew off the handle.

Furious, he refused to listen to her reasons for not betraying Chelsea's confidence and began shouting at her when he realised Whitney knew Chelsea was planning to have an abortion.

"You're just like all the others," the three-time killer said issuing a chilling threat.

"Lying to my face, sneaking around behind my back. Well that's going to stop. You need to learn. Otherwise we can't be together."

But Whitney didn't back down, and she told him: "I need to learn? You think we're going to be together after this?"

Gripping a steak knife on the table, Gray told her: "You need to go before I do something I'll regret."

However Whitney didn't realise the danger she was in – and she stood up to him.

"You trying to scare me?" she said fronting up to him.

"You don't scare me. You're pathetic, you're an insecure coward. You and me? We're done for good."

With that she walked out on Gray, alive and fans breathed a sigh of relief.
