EastEnders spoilers – Ben Mitchell serial killer shock as revenge plot spirals; plus Coronation Street & Emmerdale news

BEN MITCHELL could soon be embroiled in a serial killer shock as he recently revealed he has been attacking people as a means of revenge after he was attacked last year.

Ben Mitchell, played by Max Bowden, has been increasingly paranoid about his and husband Callum Highway's safety ever since the pair were targetted last year in a homophobic attack.

He admitted to Sharon that he's been secretly attacking people as a means of revenge.

But he went on to tell her they 'deserve to die', sparking fears that the attacks could soon become escalated as Ben gets a taste for murder?

Ben and Callum have clashed over their differing beliefs about how to tackle hate since they got married.

While Callum insists on being louder and prouder Ben wants to give in to the fear.

In Wednesday's episode of the BBC soap, Ben violently attacked a man who had previously made homophobic slurs towards Walford's new bar manager Lewis.

Sharon caught Ben red-handed as he tried to beat the life out of the man.

"What have you done?" she asked as Ben stood over the lifeless body.

When the police, including Callum, arrived at the scene, Sharon covered for Ben, pretending she hadn't seen who the attacker was.

Dean Gaffney hopes for a return

He reckons that this hasn’t put an end to Robbie – and he has his sights set on the 1000 episode mark.

Speaking to The Matt Haycox Show podcast, Dean said: "The thing is, I’ll get that 1,000th because I will, at some point, probably go back.

"The saddest thing (about missing out on the milestone) is when you get to 1,000 episodes the powers that be come down, bring some flowers and make a big fuss of you.

"I’ve been back and forwards like a yo-yo now on EastEnders. Five or six times, probably the most of any actor or actress on the show.

"My first stint was for just under 11 years. I think I would’ve got to around 700 episodes then. It’s very easy to rack up those episodes if you’re in them."

Adding extra reasons he wants a comeback, Dean said: "EastEnders is 10 minutes up the road from where I live, so, of course, that would be the dream.

"It’s most people’s pensions, people who are there long-term. And it’s home. It’s all a family."

Emmerdale fans seriously distracted by string of blunders

Emmerdale residents were in court again during last night's trip to the Dales as Meena Jutla's trial continued.

But viewers of the ITV soap were quick to point out a string of blunders on social media.

Manpreet Sharma (played by Rebecca Sarker) took the stand last night, ready to testify against her sister Meena (Paige Sandhu).

The village GP told the court how the serial killer kept her hostage and fed her a cocktail of drugs during her captivity, before confessing all of her crimes.

Meanwhile, Meena was taunting her older sister, determined to destroy her publicly – which led to viewers questioning why Manpreet was even present at the trial.

Many soap fans turned to Twitter to express their scepticism.

"Manpreet is so traumatised, why is she being asked to give evidence in the courtroom where her torturer is and not by video link?", one viewer wrote.

They added: "Also where is Vinny he would be much better placed to give evidence than Manpreet!"

"Now I don’t know how I’m going to pay my bills.”
