EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter spirals out of control

In upcoming scenes of the BBC One soap, Linda finds it hard to move on and, after many outbursts including a fight with Janine, turns to alcohol.

To her daughter Nancy's (Maddy Hill) surprise, Linda is staying with Sharon Watts but, after a night spent with Zack, she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with her mother.

However, Linda sparks concern when Nancy discovers bottles of alcohol in her suitcase as well as a family photo.

Feeling guilty, Nancy goes to talk to Linda and offer her an olive branch.

But this appears to do nothing for her addiction.

The day of Stuart's surgery arrives and Linda is spotted by the new father sneaking alcohol into a drink.

This leads to him confiding in Rainie about his own past addiction to painkillers as he admits he is terrified of relapsing after his operation.

Linda's reliance on booze has torn her family apart in the past and was first noticed when she struggled to accept her son Ollie's autism diagnosis.

This was only worsened with Mick's panic attacks and her own fears that her cancer may have returned.

She was even caught drunk driving outside the school gates.

While she has tried to take the steps towards recovery, Linda has relapsed multiple times.

But could Nancy be of help in her struggle? Will Linda find help for her addiction once and for all?
