EastEnders star was hospitalised with bipolar and an eating disorder

EastEnders’ Luisa Bradshaw-White has revealed that she was hospitalised with bipolar disorder and an eating disorder.

The actress – who portrayed Tina Carter in the long-running serial drama – opened up about her mental health in a new video on social media.

‘I’ve suffered hugely with my mental health in the past,’ she said on Instagram. ‘I have bipolar disorder, and I’m in recovery from an eating disorder. I’ve been hospitalised for both, so it’s been pretty serious.

‘But I see both as huge blessings as they’ve forced me to make self care a big part of my life.

‘And I’ve been really well for a long time now, and it’s all because I work my happy muscle every day. I’ve learned so much along the way, and found so much healing.’

Luisa told her followers that she was ‘nervous’ ahead of posting the video, but revealed that she wants to help people who are struggling with their mental health.

The soap star has launched a new Instagram account in the hopes of ‘creating a community of like-minded people’.

‘It’s really important to me and I would love to be able to help people,’ Luisa added. ‘I’m really aware that a lot of the people who follow me on Instagram are EastEnders fans, which is really cool, but I wanted to create another account for things to do with self-care.

‘I have a website which is called LuluOm, which is mostly at the moment about Breathwork. But I want to create an account – an insta account – for people like me.

‘I want to create a community of likeminded people who, like me, have struggled or are struggling with their mental health, and want a happier more fulfilled soul-led life.

‘A community of people who lift each other up, rather than tear each other down which I see so much of on social media.’
