Georgia Steel’s ex arrested in Mayfair club after Love Island star accused him of swindling her out of thousands

AN EX-FOOTBALLER accused of swindling Love Island star Georgia Steel out of thousands has been arrested in a Met Police sting operation.

Plain-clothes cops pounced on Medi Abalimba, 30, last Friday as he partied in an exclusive Mayfair club.

He was hauled away in cuffs after a VIP night at celebrity haunt Kadie’s – beloved by Towie legend Mark Wright and Hollywood star Idris Elba.

Ex-Derby County footballer Abalimba has been released on bail as cops investigate.

He dated reality TV star Georgia, 21, but they split in April after she claimed she had been conned out of tens of thousands of pounds.

Speaking at the time, Georgia told Sun Online she feared her ex-lover was to blame after her bank account was raided, leaving her “too terrified to sleep."

‘CON ARTIST’ ACCUSED

She said: “I went on my online banking and I noticed a drastic amount had just gone. I was in my flat and I’ve never been in a situation like that in my life.

“I was physically sick. I sat on my sofa and thought I was going to faint.”

She added: “I feel like this is going to affect me for life. Looking back I feel stupid, but at the time it’s like being hypnotised.”

She confronted Medi, but he allegedly told her it was nothing to do with him.

The star walked out on him after she received a call from her mum as the two went out on a dinner date and was given an ultimatum.

She said: "He made me feel safe. He was always dressed head-to-toe in designer labels.

"He could speak five languages and he had this reputation that made everyone very respectful of him."

Georgia recently got engaged to Ibiza Weekender star Callum Izzard after just one month together.

Abalimba had earned up to £4,000-a-week playing football for Derby County.
