Viewers of Great British Bake Off are used to seeing Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas present the hit show as a pair.

But in one upcoming episode, there will be a formatting shake up where comedian Noel will front the programme alone.

It will be the first time ever that GBBO has just one host.

There are five Stand Up to Cancer celebrity episodes coming up and Little Britain star Matt will be a baker in one of them.

How the tables have turned!

Noel has been hosting the show since its move to Channel 4 in 2017. He originally hosted the show alongside Sandi Toksvig – but she quit the role in 2020 and was replaced by Matt, 48.

The special episodes will see an array of famous faces such as Mo Farah, Emma Willis, Motsi Mabuse and former Corrie actress Katherine Kelly brave the tent and put their baking skills to the test.

The judges will be Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, business as usual.

And in an unusual twist, Matt will join them after revealing he is filling in for a celebrity who pulled out at the last minute.

Speaking ahead of his Bake Off appearance, he said: "I was forced to bake by my bosses at the last minute when one of the bakers became unavailable.

“I can’t tell you how happy I was that my humiliation was caught on camera."

Meanwhile, GBBO winner Nadiya Hussain said her mother cannot stand her cooking and gives it away.

Speaking on the Off Menu podcast, the cookbook writer said: “[My mum] is not maternal at all.

“I very rarely take anything round for her because she is so judgemental about everyone’s cooking.

“Even as somebody who cooks for a living when I take something round for her, she opens it, she won’t smell it, she will barely look at it and honestly you can see the disappointment in her face.
