Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this weekend and the couples will be donning incredible costumes as they dance to songs from their favourite films. EastEnders actor James and his partner Amy will be dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Hooked On A Feeling from Guardians of the Galaxy. Celebrity psychic and body language expert Inbaal Honigman has spoken out about how there is already “distance” between the couple.

James Bye has not had it easy since he took to the dancefloor for the first time in the 2022 series.

The actor has been ranking low on the leaderboard with his performances so far, scoring 24 points in week two and 22 in week one.

He also showed off the horrific injury he sustained while showcasing his fitness skills during rehearsals.

Speaking on It Takes Two, he said: “I was trying to show Amy how strong I was in the rehearsal room so I did a few pull-ups…”

“I like ripped my finger open. The finger almost fell off. The wedding ring is sort of the only thing keeping my finger on.”

There is a chance he may fall flat in Movie Week as Reboot Link Building Agency partnered up with body language expert Inbaal to uncover which pairs are swaying in chemistry.

The experts also used Google Trends to analyse each couple’s online popularity based on the highest proportion of searches so far, determining the most talked-about couple so far.

In terms of compatibility, James and Amy only scored 15 per cent, with Inbaal saying: “There is a real dissonance between her smiling, shining expression and his neutral, almost sarcastic face.

“They are not mirroring each other’s facial expressions and there is no exchange of smiles and glances. Their cuddle is distant – no chemistry.”

Amy has cheekily joked about James’ dancing in social media videos from behind the scenes.

Taking to Instagram, James said in a video: “Hello everyone, so this week if you haven’t seen, Amy and I are dancing to Guardians of the Galaxy, the movie, which is an honour for me as my boys absolutely love the film.

“Amy in our choreography has really tried to bring elements and scenes from the movie into our choreography.

“If you know the film, he loves his sort of dad dancing, the sort of shapes he’s chucking around.”

Referring to his dad dancing, Amy, joked: “You’re good at that aren’t you.”

James replied to his partner: “Yes…I sort of do that now really.”

James is having to fill some big shoes as he takes part in the competition after some of his successful EastEnders co-stars.

Maisie Smith took part in the 2020 season and she reached the final with her partner Gorka Márquez.

Despite the observations from the experts, James and Amy have shown their appreciation for one another.

On Instagram, he called Amy “one of the incredible ladies” in his life.

He said: “It’s time @amy_dowden!!! So lucky to have Amy as my professional, she is absolutely amazing.

“A wee Welsh Wonder – she’ll have to suss out a way to deal with my 2 left feet!

“Thank you for all the effort you’ve put in so far. We’ve got a long way to go but I’ll give it everything I’ve got.

“Thank you also to my partner in crime Victoria @lifewiththebyes – all the late nights and exhaustion must be tough… but I’m so lucky knowing you and the boys are behind me.

“To the incredible ladies in my life… I’ll try my best to do you both proud.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.
